Simon Jordan to watch Palace game first time in 15 years

Did anyone else here see Simon Jordan play for Palace vs Liverpool in a charity match (FA Cup Semi Final legends)?

He was actually one of the better players on the pitch.

Yes I remember going to a game where he played. It could have been the fa cup final anniversary game against man u tho? I remember Alex ferguson came down on a cold evening. Ian wright played aswell and when he scored a cracker of a volley? Lost 3-1?

If I remember or are you talking a a different game?

Definitely different as it was against Liverpool. I remember having some banter with Bruce Grobelaar!

What went down with him and Parish anyway? Why's he always talking in code, saying things like 'if you knew what happened with Steve...' and 'I've got my own reasons for not liking Parish'.

Any inside knowledge?

Well if you like Chinese whispers I can relay something I recall reading quite some time back on here or Reddit or some other shyte that Parish allegedly set the wheels in motion for Jordans Palace going into administration so that he himself couldn't pounce. How's that?

Ask Phil Alexander, he was involved. Jordan will always give his biased version of events.

I think there was a suggestion that Parish had some influence over the club going into Admin, so that Parish could buy it on the cheap. That was obviously to the financial detriment of SJ.
I wonder if SJ has blagged tickets to the Directors Suite, or whether he's sitting in the Arfur with his wellies on, so he can use the toilets at half time without getting his shoes wet. 🙂

SJ is going to Fulham away. He’s not going to Selhurst while Parish is there.

I was at Steve Kembers testimonial and wright scored a cracker. Think it was against Chelsea I can't mind but it was more a celebrity match as the first team had the play offs a few days later.

I think that point came across in Simon Jordan's book.

He didn't trust Parish, but seemed to completely despise Phil Alexander.

I'm pretty sure in SJ's book he said that he was unhappy that Parish didn't come in and help bail him out and that this was made worse when he used a third-party to secure the purchase of the club for a reduced fee (or something like that). I have to say, my opinion of SJ plummeted after reading his book. He came across as a complete narcissist.

The administration process was finished we were 24hrs from liquidation, the administrator did a good job in my opinion. There were lots of small creditors who hadn't been paid including apprentice landladies and St John's Ambulance.

The thing is, SJ was very difficult to work with, and Dominic was a royal pain. Who would want to bail SJ out, when he was already failing ? it's like pouring good money after bad. Parish is a successful business man and probably not wanting to work alongside a chancer who'd still have significant control.
You shouldn't let personalities impact business decisions, but it does happen

So you want to buy something and it will cost a fair bit. Then you realise that if you wait a few months it will come down in price, so you wait.

Haven't we all done that? That is all that Parish did. Jordan can complain as much as he likes but he bankrupted the club and failed to find his own new investors. He then complains when someone new comes along and say I don't want you involved and I will pick the time when I buy the club that no one else wants to buy.

Sorry SJ, no sympathy.

He did play in the Man U game. He came on to play right wing. He was quite decent. That Palace journo played too (the one that hosted Sunday supplement and then went Man U as their press officer. I didn’t like him).

I went to the game against Liverpool too but can’t remember if he played in that one too (he probably would have done).

He has an awful lot to say for the last fifteen years without seeing a game.
