Palace fans causing disorder

I don't think he was claiming that Palace is left leaning, but that we do not have the large racist violent element in our fanbase like Chelsea and Rangers. Obviously there are going to be a number of under-educated Reform types among our fans but they are a small minority.

But are reform not miles ahead in the polls ? So are the majority of the country uneducated ? Either you're the uneducated one, or you're right and thats another failure of a social programme, maybe we should scrap free education and everyone should pay ? Maybe then we would all be educated well enough to vote for the green party.

My son witnessed the fight at half time behind the stand, as did a mate of mine. Both were shocked by the level of violence.

My son asked one of the HF, a black guy, what was behind it and was told it was in reaction to the racist abuse from the Addo Boys.

This is nothing new and has been going on for a few years now.

I was attacked by a group of guys from New Addington when I was in my teens - the area seems to breed a certain type although I know there are decent people from there too.

Im actually born and raised in New Addington and have been attacked on many occasions due to the fact that my parents in their infinite wisdom decided to send me to Saint Mary's School in Croydon despite living a 2 minute walk from Fairchildes School . It was like walking a gauntlet every evening on the way hame after school being dressed in the Catholic uniform of Saint Marys , but as you say there is good and bad there . I have found that no matter where i have lived in my life , same here in Ireland always a few rotten apples around .

Every time I come on here I have to read one of your vapid takes in Andrew Tate's voice out loud in my head. utter sado.

left wing facism? How do you type out so much drivel without not at least once stopping to think "do you know what, maybe I'm just stupid"

Based on the AT profile picture, I can only assume you are what? 12/13 years old? Must be nice to have only ever seen us play in the premier league! When you grow up you might realise that AT, Robinson, Farage etc are all simply in the business of distracting us from what really divides us as people. spoiler, its not race & ethnicity like you believe. But instead who does and who does not own capital, assets, land etc etc.. the top 5% continue to exploit us, become richer in doing so, and in return people who work week after week see no increase in their wages relative to the increase in rent, bills, and just about everything else you could possible imagine. Learn to project your frustrations at capitalist exploiters instead of pointing the finger at immigrants

So off topic I know but I won't post anymore on this thread haha

Deary me, with your student politics. The top 5 per cent of UK income-tax payers provide around half of the UK’s income tax revenue, which shows the treasury is heavily reliant on high earners to fund public services.

If you want to discuss this further, then we can do in the Politics forum instead of Palace Talk. I doubt you will want to though.

After reading through this thread and the media I would like to make the following observations .

1- The evidence of racist behaviour is flimsy at best but the evidence of thuggish behaviour by some fans is beyond doubt
2. Regardless of other fans behaviour know one person or group should take it on themselves to act as vigilantes unless someone is in immediate danger of serious harm .
3. There is no justification what so ever to smash up a bar etc and ruin their business and that of other bars which had to close for the rest of the night .
4. The good reputation of the the club and our fans is being thrown into the gutter by a few fans that should be ashamed of themselves .
5. There are bound to repercussions and restrictions placed on Palace’s future games/fans in Europe after the terrible scenes in Strasbourg .
6 . I would like to apologise to the people and business owners in Strasbourg on behalf of the 99.9 % of Palace fans that behave impeccably .
Sorry, but that seems like an exaggerated scenario to me. When Rapid or Austria Vienna have a home game in Europe, there are almost always similar incidents involving a few drunk home and away fans, as long as they're not from Luxembourg or Liechtenstein. As long as there wasn't more to it than what I've read here, the police usually report such incidents as a quiet evening with a brief brawl that was quickly brought under control. Not that I'm saying that something like this is okay or part of the game, but it doesn't seem to have been a street battle lasting several hours. The French police are used to more serioust disorder with football fans on normal league days in France. You can find plenty of reports on the web.

It's made several papers and reports have reached the Irish police for Shelbourne. That's nice isn't it.

Was being sung in the bar in Lublin while I was getting a drink.

A) they were so coked up/drunk you risked getting your head kicked in filming it

B) it shines the club in a seriously bad light so rather not give them the oxygen and prefer to ignore them

There are plenty of people from both trips who will validate the same behaviour from the same little group of dickheads. Pretend otherwise if you want.

Ok, I take your first-hand account seriously as you're not just parroting what someone told someone. Will be interesting to see what happens in Dublin.

can’t believe I’m actually seeing palace fans (presumably ones part of the ‘addo’ group) on twitter/X who appear genuinely proud for starting on the HF because they are antifa, wave Palestine flags at games etc etc… it does genuinely surprise me how large the flag shagging gammon faction of our fanbase actually is.

So the fans complaining about the Palestine flag being waved are the flag shaggers?

Given that Palace owners Josh Harris and David Blitzer are Jewish, I think waving the Palestine flag on the anniversary of the biggest massacre of Jews since the Holocaust was quite disgusting. Don't you agree?

You have clearly been watching too many Donald T.Rump and J.D.Vance speeches on YouTube as you are using typical MAGA hyperbole. If you're in the MAGA cult someone in this country who votes Liberal or Labour would qualify as a "left wing facist" when in reality they are people who believe that everyone deserves a fair standard of living, in a fair society, and a well funded NHS. Doesn't sound very facist to me.

Can you rewrite this so it makes sense. I genuinely don't understand your claim

The mask has well and truly slipped from the HFs on this one. We all had an inkling on them and now it just confirms.

They are also trying to paint themselves as the good guys and saying they were fighting "racism" even tho they were complicit in the violence that occured.

Both groups should be banned, away season tickets and points withdrawn.

Apparently smashing up a town square is acceptable because it's "for the cause".

Politics has nothing to do with football and should be kept out !embarrassing two groups of fans from the same team fighting each other get a grip sort your differences out away from the stadiums and get behind the team as we have always done

I don't have a big problem with either 'Stop the Boats' or Palestine flags.
'Stop the Boats' is official policy of most political parties in the country, and supported by 90% of the population. Not sure why it would be considered 'hard-right' to say it?
Palestine is actually a country entered in the World Cup qualifiers, and again most of the population oppose the destruction of Gaza which is going on. So not sure why flying their flag would be considered 'hard left'?

But I have a big problem with that Mateta song and with our own fans being racially abused, if they are indeed true.

The funniest thing is, the fighting has absolutely nothing to do with politics, they've been fighting for years, it was the same group in Norway, a few seasons ago in Victoria and Im pretty sure there was even a fight in the ground when they were still sat in block B, I don't even think reform were a party back then and waving a Palestinian flag definitely wasn't in fashion, I think that was probably about the time body positivity was the cool movement among the youth.

If you run into the pitch, even just to show your bits for a laugh you get a lifetime ban. If you do it at an international match you have to hand in your passport to the local station any time England play away.
But if you go abroad and smash up some poor buggers business in the name of your club you get what? Sweet f*** all it seems.

First time I'm hearing of this so called "Addo" too. May I suggest Small Time Faggots as an official name?

What? They were fighting in the past about 'body positivity'?

The Addo are a very long standing Palace group. Other will know more, but I think at least 50 years old.

One of the Palace history books recounted a previous feud they had with another Palace firm 'Aero' (Addiscombe Eagles Rule OK) but this is back in 1970s/80s I believe.
