Palace fans causing disorder

The Addo are a very long standing Palace group. Other will know more, but I think at least 50 years old.

One of the Palace history books recounted a previous feud they had with another Palace firm 'Aero' (Addiscombe Eagles Rule OK) but this is back in 1970s/80s I believe.
I stand corrected. Not my area of expertise (or concern).

I'd still like to suggest that name though.

So the fans complaining about the Palestine flag being waved are the flag shaggers?

Given that Palace owners Josh Harris and David Blitzer are Jewish, I think waving the Palestine flag on the anniversary of the biggest massacre of Jews since the Holocaust was quite disgusting. Don't you agree?

No. The massacre wasn't by Palestine. It was by a small group of Hamas terrorists.
Palestine exists as a country. Waving a Palestinian flag is not the same as supporting terrorism, just the right of that country to exist.

For balance, I think equating 'Stop the Boats' with Nazism/racism/fascism is an equally tenuous and ridiculous link. Not wanting to be invaded by unknown criminals doesn't make one a racist.

People are too quickly polarised. All nuance is lost. It's sad that these issues are dividing our club.

If you run into the pitch, even just to show your bits for a laugh you get a lifetime ban. If you do it at an international match you have to hand in your passport to the local station any time England play away.
But if you go abroad and smash up some poor buggers business in the name of your club you get what? Sweet f*** all it seems.

First time I'm hearing of this so called "Addo" too. May I suggest Small Time Faggots as an official name?

Go back and read any thread about fighting among our own fans on this site. It's always HF vs Addo.
It has nothing to do with left/right wing politics, just the same as any other fight at football throughout the country or even your average Saturday night.
Im gonna take a wild guess and go alcohol and cocaine.

From the club website:

If you have an incident to report, text 07507 477 669 using one of the codes below, along with your location (block, row, seat number):

LGBT (anti-LGBT or homophobic chanting)
FOUL (foul language and behaviour)
RACISM (racist language)
Etc..

This is the correct action to be taken. Not taking it upon yourself to start a fight or carrying out violence.

The mask has well and truly slipped from the HFs on this one. We all had an inkling on them and now it just confirms.

They are also trying to paint themselves as the good guys and saying they were fighting "racism" even tho they were complicit in the violence that occured.

Both groups should be banned, away season tickets and points withdrawn.

How are you blaming the HF for this?

I'm sorry but I disagree for many reasons which I have discussed in the politics forum (and not in Palace Talk) where we can continue if you like. That conflict in the Middle East has nothing to do with Palace.

Yup. My late grandfather lived in Kingscote Road and was one of the founding members.

(I'm making this up, apart from my grandad and Kinsgcote Road, please tell me you are too)

Honestly I think that they could al raise a LOT of money for their individual causes if they held a weekend of cage fighting where we can watch and bet. Each can donate to their choices on a 50 50 split, which by the sounds of it will be Palestine Action and Reform UK, or could be something else, and it can all be settled in a clean way without ruining the weekend of innocent people.

I would have reported the alleged racism to the club or the police or both.

Violence is not the answer. And alleged racism should not be used as an excuse for violence.
In the Real World it doesn't work like that.

If you have a group of thugs in your face racially abusing you, how do you think reporting it to the club is going to stop it there and then ? And those French police looked like they were ready for trouble, I doubt very much if they would have sorted it out peaceably. I'm not condoning the violence, but your suggested solutions aren't going to fly I'm afraid.

I don't agree with everything HF, but I know whose version of events I believe in this case.

Firstly reporting the abuse after the game (or during, via stewards) is how it’s supposed to work in football and that is why clubs have zero tolerance policies and the police have dedicated football units.

Secondly walking up and punching someone because they called you a name is still assault.
If the police are going heavy handed that is a separate issue. It doesn’t give anyone a free pass to throw a punch.

And lastly believing one side does not change the fact that violence wasn’t the only option or the right one.

I would still be saying the same if it was the other way round. And I stand by what I said both sides should be reported and banned. An investigation by the club should take place.

When the HF had their anti semitic flags out on the anniversary of the horrific attack on 7th October I didn't walk up to them and abuse or fight them. I simply reported it to the club who have since taken action.

You do realise this happened in France and therefore I contend that normal rules do not apply . I understand that around 50 people were ejected ( estimated by someone I was with ) so some action was taken at the time ( halftime )

You come across as a little naive - the Addo lot don’t stop at just verbal abuse. Fail to stand up to them and it won’t end well. It doesn’t stop at name calling.

Read my post again - I said I know whose version of events I believe while I also said I don’t condone violence.

Well done for reporting the anti semitic flags - as I posted earlier, Politics in football has no rights or wrongs - just all wrongs.
