Poor wording on my part.
Here's what I should have typed:
"I find folks with TDS rarely realize they have it and rarely realize they are contributing to
their OWN Trump problem."
It's fairly obvious that Wisbech hates Trump.
He is certainly entitled to that opinion.
There is stuff not to like about Trump, no doubt.
I have many friends who share Wisbech's views, and like Wisbech they don't realize it's their one-sided hysteria that has helped Trump every step of the way. From edited interviews from folks like CBS and the BBC ... to farcical judicial decisions (the 2020 Georgia fraud charges against Trump were dropped today) even people who are not strong Trump supporters are tired of the bias.
There is no "Trump Problem" per se.
He's like any President ... pissing off half of the country... we had a "Biden Problem" in equal measure. We in the USA are so polarized right now it's disgusting, and the hatred/love of Trump has made that polarization so much worse.
Interestingly, here are the approval ratings from the organization that was closest in terms of forecasting the 2024 Presidential election:
Favorability Ratings - RCP Poll Averages
-09.9% Trump
-12.2% Republicans
-22.2% Democrats
The Democrats are not doing well .. and it's their own fault.
Too focused on moving further to the left, not moving more to the center.
That's why AOC and Mamdani will guarantee future Republican victories if they become the faces of the the party.
In the end, I'm just hoping for a Crystal Palace win tomorrow at Strasbourg!
I've come to realize that I'm far more tribal with sports than I am at with politics.
For that reason, don't take it personally if I don't respond much more on this Trump subject.
I've found you don't change many minds, you just feed into the anger.
And that ain't a good thing.
