AFCON starts on 21st December AND players have to be released by clubs at least 14 days before that so by 7th December (we play Fulham that day). In other words Sarr will miss 7 of the 8 December games and up to 5 or possibly 6 of the January games depending on his return date and our final position in the ECL league stage.

In response to a question about our January business Glasner said he felt he would need 1 or 2 in that window. Who he decides to play in Sarr's place will say a lot about his views on Esse and Uche and where he thinks resources in January are needed.

Whether we go for loan(s) or purchase(s) may say something about Glasner's longer term future.

Interesting times ahead methinks.

I can't stand Afcon. Just from a completely selfish Palace viewpoint. However, I tried to give it a go. I've watched a lot of the games our players have been involved in. Invariably the games have been a rubbish standard, with some hilarious incidents thrown in. Refs have been shambolic every game I've ever seen. Loads seem either politically or financially motivated if I give my honest opinion. Pitches were always terrible. However, maybe it's somewhere better this year.

Yikes, thats more than I thought/remembered.

Sarr is so important to us, losing him for 12+ games, is pretty catastrophic. We'll really need Nketiah and Pino to step up in December at least.

We need minimum of two attacking players, that are of premier league standard, Loan or Buy, age doesn't matter, short term fix. AFCON Starts on Dec 21st and the country's will want them at least a week before, so that is the 14th, so kuPS, Leeds, Arsenal (LC), Spurs, Newcastle, Fulham and Aston Villa, until any new signing, realistically can start.

I read that it's 14 days so from the 7th - see my earlier post.

It should also be every 4 years. Not every 2 in my opinion.

The chances of us dealing with Textors Lyon?
Don't think he has a say does he? Think his creditors took control to guarantee their money - and to get the authorities off of their back. Lyon were looking in deep do do under Textor. The fans were not amused. I think it's a finance woman these days - something like Kang? But I haven't looked recently.

Exactly, why does it need to be twice as often as the euros?
I'll answer my own question: to pay off the association officials. I guarantee not a cent goes to grass roots. When you consider it, Europe is Africa's academy. And no one thinks that's wrong? Just for a moment imagine African teams developing African talent. No way - must be mad, why do that?
Football is just so blatantly corrupt that there is no real need to hide it. Blatter got off didn't he? Laughable.
African football associations. A joke that doesn't need a punchline.

we need players on loan that have some premier league expierience, not players that might be alright on not.

Yup, she's the one who owns London Lionesses in the WSL

True, Chelsea, Arsenal and Man City seem to have a couple of players not getting a look in - for loans. Buying will either be from abroad or from the Championship, however. Although you might wonder who only has six months left on their contract in January. Could be a few that could be bought for cheap or loaned and then signed. I always thought we'd sign at least two in January but have no idea really. Just a hunch. Clearly, we need to not sell - except for the obvious ones.
