Labour Party politics

If It goes through with the rump of the Tories voting for it and becomes accepted as a panacea for "all immigration ills" it will sink Farage's boat pardon the analogy irresistible.

Proof is in the pudding. If by this time next year, the numbers are SIGNIFICANTLY down, then we will see.

And nice to see Labour effectively parroting Reform these days. Shows they are getting something right.

Immigration rose from around 200,000 to 900,000 plus in the tory years.

And small boats were hardly heard of.

😎
Yep the Tories did nothing to stem the tide of mass Immigration. Let’s not forget it was Blair who opened the doors. Masses came in backs Lorries so were never counted, oh and don’t forget those that arrived by the plane load everyday. Both main parties have let the public down when it come to Immigration. As I have said, these plans are just all talk from a HS who signed a letter stopping the deportation of Jamaican criminals, one of who went on to commit murder. She also went to a Greek Island to welcome illegal entrants from Africa. Don’t be fooled by her, she is one of the biggest hypocrites in this shitshow of a Government

Sometimes needs must, it seems to me there is a whiff of the establishment not wanting a third party and ganging up.I think this is an acceptable watering down of the very draconian Reform policy on immigration,in all honesty stealing another parties ideas is hardly new.

"full of sound and fury, signifying nothing" You can rely on the Bard for a good quote. 😆 😆 😆

If they make it over on hang gliders you have to admire the commitment.

There's not liking France and then there's crossing the channel on a hang glider level of not liking France.
It's only a matter of time before more drastic action is employed to stop these leaches.

The only question is how bad the gutless arseholes in government will let it get before they act decisively.

Lets be be honest, they are collectively shitting themselves over Reform. Its taking seats from both Labour and the Tories, with Labour having to look over its shoulder at both the Greens and also the Muslim indy's.

But the numbers have to come down significantly within a year. Suspect the public might buy this Labour spiel for a while but if the courts start kicking it into touch, then its just an open goal for Reform and will split the Left even more.

She is probably the only Labour cabinet member who can pull off this kind of stunt, because she can play the Muslim card which means your average Soc.lib has a pavolvian reaction to trying to criticise her. Suspec the weather will now keep the numbers down but if the legislation is not in place by say March of next year then Labour are potentially even more screwed.

But whatever you might think of Farage, (and I see him as a kind of pinko-liberal), he has single-handedly forced the Government into this. Amazing impact on British politics. Probably the single most influential politician since say Lady T. And on the back of leading a party with less MP's than a 5-a-side football team. Remarkable.

Possibly the Tories are but Labour know Reform lacks the organisation in order to run a decent election campaign.

If you subscribe to the view that Starmer and Co only got elected because people were so sick of the Tories, then it's entirely feasible to believe that Reform will get elected because people are so sick of Labour.

Electoral organisation or not, Reform are a genuine threat to Labour. And they know it.
I believe there are around 650 electoral seats ,they need 650 people ,650 deposits, 650 agents ,a large number of cars to take the old and infirm to the polling station, door knockers to encourage the faithful to go out and vote, there are many other things required and to run a successful election campaign most of all experience as to how the machine works.

You're discounting how people are fed up with the slick party machine. Just as much as they are fed up with the parties. Reform and, dare I say, Greens are better at the social media campaigns too. Labour just look like too coached, just like the Tories looked. There's a seismic shift in politics that supporters of the traditional parties should wake up to. I was going to say need to wake up to, but people don't need to. They can just expect politics to stay the same but it won't be. It's demonstrated across Europe and the US and possibly elsewhere (where there are any semblance of real, reliable elections). There are plenty of academic and journalistic pieces on it if anyone could be bothered to look. It's been going on a while.

You keep believing that’s going to stop them and let’s see what happens

Farage knows that she has acted on immigration leaving him with nothing to bleat about, even harsher immigration rules would mean breaking international treaties and the U.K. becoming a pariah state.Fourteen years of Tory rule produced nothing on Immigration whatsoever!
You wait. He only said there is a lot he agrees with. But sorry, I fail to see what good a policy of paying these illegals £3,000 to feck off when they pay a third of that to come here and get a hotel with free food and bills compared to their s*** holes. Do you see the flaw and hole in her policy? Plus of course none of it will probably go through anyway.
