Not really bothered, how he performs playing for England, as long he performs for Palace. Playing for England is of no benefit to Palace at all, they usually come back with injuries and we lose out.

£40 million more likeI am of the same opinion.
What a signing by Nottm Forest, just £15 Mill from Newcastle.

This isn't the Wharton we know. Needs more games to get him fully back from his illness.I think Wharton's brilliant for us, however last night he was well off it for England. He always seemed to move behind an Albanian player when the back four were playing the ball out of defence, therefore making it impossible for him to receive the ball. He also looked lethargic and uninterested to me, and perhaps was a little too relaxed about it all.
As someone else has pointed out, having John Stones beside him probably didn't help, but he needs to be more dominant.

In addition to Stones, every time I looked up Kane was also playing in the midfield space. Latter is a good player for us but I do wish he’d keep himself in the last 3rd and leave the midfielders a bit more space to operate.Tuchel stymied Wharton by telling Stones to move into midfield when we were in possession .Completely congested the middle of the park and made any creativity hopeful at best . As a tactic it was a failure
I dont think the other players trusted Wharton to receive the ball in tight spaces facing his own goal (we know better) he was offering himself but just didn't get anything .
I dont think any of the England players had a good first half .
As mentioned Andersen is in front of Wharton at this time . He looks stronger is more verbal and has a goal in him .Attributes that Adam will improve on I'm sure . His passing ability and quickness of thought will then give him the edge but they are two fine players

I agree with that assessment. I’m also not sure he is fully 100% yet after recent sickness/injury. The downside is that he hasn’t got the speed in him that other midfielders have but I acknowledge his asset is being able to pass short in very tight situations which those other midfielders don’t have. And yes, the other 10 need to have more trust in him. I’m not so sure he will be on that plane?Tuchel stymied Wharton by telling Stones to move into midfield when we were in possession .Completely congested the middle of the park and made any creativity hopeful at best . I think the shooting point is a fair criticism. The recent very top players in his position posed more of a threat from open play (Busquets, Cambiasso, Nkante) and set pieces (Pirlo, Modric later in his career).I might be missing something here.
Wharton can't shoot and he's never impressed me in the games I've seen.
A lot of this is bandwagon/FOMO.

Rooney used to do this a lot later in his England career too. As for Kane, stick to goal hanging Harry, it's what you're good at!In addition to Stones, every time I looked up Kane was also playing in the midfield space. He is incredibly bad. He either scuffs the shot and it rolls into the goalkeeper's arms or hooks them well wide. He must be godawful at golfI think the shooting point is a fair criticism.

The way he pings the ball around the corner or through the thirds you'd think the coaches would be telling him to pass the ball into the net.He is incredibly bad. He either scuffs the shot and it rolls into the goalkeeper's arms or hooks them well wide. He must be godawful at golf

Absolutely - I'd be livid if the manager thought a goalkeeper could do a better job in midfield than I could 😜I'm not too bothered by this set of Internationals either. Adam will definitely be on the plane.
There was a bit in Thursday's game vs Serbia where Henderson came on for Rice in 65th minute and Adam had a face like thunder (very understandable of course!), so I reckon when it came to the Albania game he didn't really have the confidence, plus the other positional reasons already discussed.
Might get shot down for this, but I was impressed by Anderson in the Palace v Forest game and thought he had the upper hand in the midfield battle against Adam.
Overall, it's easy to forget how young Adam is, and I think another season with Palace in 26/27 will be a win-win for the player and us. Oh and agree with him getting more shooting practice in. Even 2-3 goals will make a difference given how tight the league is
I agree about Rice; he's world-class imo.Another shocker, imo. Rice is top five complete midfielders in the world rn. Bellingham I'm inclined to agree with you a bit more...but he has that X-factor that can provide moments in a cagey tournament game.

Newcastle sold Anderson to adhere to PSR regulations. For some reason I believed the fee was considerably less than £35 Mill but I have been informed otherwise.I think it's important to consider experience and the fact that was Adam's first start for England coming off the back of a period of illness. Rice was not the player he is now at Wharton's age. Anderson wasn't either, hence why Newcastle sold him for £35m and not more. If he'd played a blinder against Albania the spotlight would be on him and we'd have had a January window with constant speculation. As it is, hopefully it'll take some of the pressure off. His ability to consistently break the lines with a one-touch pass points towards him going all the way to the top, but he is still developing and hopefully he sticks with us for at least a couple more years.
