Raheem Sterling

Because you've called him it a couple of times now and I'm interested to know what it's based on.

Don't worry about it - clearly asking you to expand on something you've said is too much trouble.
Correct.

I'm a good judge of character.

Agreed. It's bad enough that we have become the go to club to train young Chelsea players, I don't want to become a club that rescues the career of older players out of form.

The chances are he is not match fit well if we do recruit in January we need someone to hit the ground running.
I am not saying it is a must, but we have to look at every option, if Pino and Mateta got injured during AFCON we wouldn't beat anyone, if, and a big if, after talking to him, and if he was keen, he could be training with the club long before Jan 1st, and be physically fit, at least, and schooled in Glasners style, if we can find and fund better alternatives, great.

I agree with a lot of the concerns/criticisms/logic for rejecting Sterling on this thread.

However for me as a fan, it ultimately boils down to 'would you rather have Sterling as an option or not?'. My answer is 'I would'.

We've got a small squad, a very busy schedule, and quite frankly just having more players is a bonus for a start. There are a lot of potential negatives including money, attitude, fitness, etc. but I am not responsible for running the club. I only care about how Palace get on in footballing competitions.

If Glasner was content, again speaking as a fan, I'd rather have a player who has performed at the highest level throughout his career available for selection, for any given match. If a better player is available I would rather have that one, of course. I therefore would choose the more optimistic lens through which to view things when assessing Sterling's potential impact, albeit I recognise there are several risks too.

I trust Parish and even more so Glasner, so what will be will be. For what it's worth, i think it highly unlikely we'll see him in red and blue.

Just for info Afcon cup is 21st Dec to 18th Jan. Assuming players need to be released at least 1 week before it is likely Sarr will be away on or before Man City on 14th Dec.

We then have 6 additional prem games up to Sat 17th Jan in addition to cup matches in all 3 tournaments.

It is likely Sarr will miss 10 or so games in total even if Senegal don't make the final.

An early Jan loan or signing seems to be a necessity.

Necessity will not bother our hierarchy into action. Await Glasner's annoyance.

Think Pino is Spanish so won’t be at AFCON

I'd favour buying someone. We need another forward.

Josh Sargent of Norwich is fleet of foot, useful in the air and provides great energy.
A hard-pressing striker and it was once said that he was the best pressing striker in Europe.
He believes his best position is as a No 9 but he has uttered that he is versatile.
Daniel Farke signed him for Norwich for £8 Mill.

Burnley submitted a bid of £1.5m & got told where to go, so, if we were interested in him, it would have to be a lot more than that. Need to get Richards to work on him, fellow American & all that.

I haven't watched the guy, but Norwich are struggling in 23rd so that doesn't bode well.

I'd rather go for someone with a bit of top flight experience, but easier said than done.

Tyrique George from Chelsea? We might be able to prise him from their grasp.

I made enquiries about Tyrique George in the week and the following link was forwarded to me :
