Raheem Sterling

i know we are looking at George at Chelsea, but that will probably be a purchase rather than a loan, if it was to happen.

Alternatives with prem experience who have 6 months left of their contracts so may be available for a loan or a small transfer fee are:

1. Solly March - 31 and yes plays for the scum but is right sided
2. Harry Wilson - Fulham. There is a good player in there but has often been used as a sub over the last couple of seasons
3. Adama Traore - Fulham. The move to Fulham hasn't really worked but on his day he is almost unplayable. May not have the discipline for a Glasner team and is probably on big wages

Going abroad and getting a Uche type would be a big short term gamble
Leaving aside the Wharton connection should we try get George on loan as a try before you buy deal?

We were strongly linked with a loan for Hwang (Wolves) during the last window , but then their forwards got injured and they retained him.
On the final day of the window we were supposedly close to getting Salomon (Fulham/Spurs) and then the plug was pulled - apparently by Palace.
You may recall on the penultimate day of the window Glasner saying he expected two forwards to join , but then only Uche joined.
So we're one down in terms of what Glasner expected, and it also has to be factored in that neither Esse and Uche are deemed ready at this stage and Sarr will be going to Afcon.

I'm not a great Sterling fan, but if it's him or nothing I would take him.

In my view if we needed a goal or assist I would prefer to see Sterling in one of the front 3 positions than Devenny or Kamada, even if was for the occasional 30 minute role.
Kamada has no goals and one assist in 43 League games and Devenny's record isn't much better in his performances.

They are both good players, but they are not going to contribute goals or assists.

Because of the need to replace Sarr and who is available to loan, any suggestions
My son the Chelsea fan says he wouldn't touch him with a barge pole.

We get linked to him because he has run out of London clubs.

He was a waste of space for Arsenal and Chelsea didn't use him for 2 years and want rid.

He was finished 4 years ago. Why on earth would we want him?

3 years ago he played 31 games for Chelsea, scoring 8 and 7 assists, not bad for a player finished 4 years ago

In January some team will take him on loan, and he will do well.

Come on Lanzo. This is a desperate stuff.

He is troublesome and has hardly played for two years.

I'm not going to keep repeating myself. We can do better.

You have given us good reason to question your parenting.

You have given us good reason to question your parenting.
Why?

He lived in South London for one year.

He has his own mind. Maybe you should use yours.

He has not made a single appearance this season.
His last appearance was in May earlier this year.
He made 28 appearances last campaign.
In the previous season he made 43 appearances.
He hasn't kicked a ball for his parent club for 2 years and didn't manage one goal in his 17 appearance for Arsenal.
If he is not good enough for Chelsea or Arsenal. Why is he good enough for us?

We don't need an overpaid, troublesome reject has been. We are not that club anymore.

I am not enthusiastic by any prospect of Sterling being added to our squad, indeed I have not heard anything about this likelihood.

I have no idea where this is all coming from.
The chances of him signing under Glasner are zero I'd have thought.

Agreed. It's bad enough that we have become the go to club to train young Chelsea players, I don't want to become a club that rescues the career of older players out of form.

The chances are he is not match fit well if we do recruit in January we need someone to hit the ground running.

Why is he troublesome?

With high profile players like him it's a concern that his home club are willing to pay £1m a month for him to play for someone else.
It's also a mark of how far we've come when previously we'd have been delighted to be linked with a player with his pedigree and now many don't want him.

Maresca has 'banned' all of the players he doesn't fancy - nothing to do with conduct or anything similar, as far as I'm aware.
If you don't think he is troublesome then good luck. He would never be in any team I managed.
