Strasburg - Tickets / Travel / Accommodation / Meeting points / Local knowledge

As someone who booked travel and accommodation (for my son and I who both have 10k plus points) for this as soon as the fixture was confirmed I was aware that there was a risk that we wouldn't get tickets. Given the amount of points we have I thought it would be a smaller risk than it turned out but given the limited travel options it was a risk I considered worth taking. I am very disappointed however that tickets were sold out during the first phase (the club put up about 12 sales phases over 2 days originally so that turned out well) and also that it appears that it was possible to get tickets as part of a travel package if you stumped up the cash regardless of any loyalty points - is this true?. I do firmly believe that there should be some visibility of how tickets are allocated, no system is perfect but at least we would all know where we stood, given that many of us are lifelong Palace supporters. I can only hope there is a further ticket allocation and we're lucky enough to get some.
If nothing else we're looking forward to a good night out in a Strasbourg bar!! Up the Palace!!
FYI - if you know someone with a European bank card who'd be willing to let you use it to buy tickets then you can get them in the Strasbourg end using a VPN.

Or even US credit cards work too, apparently.

Another charter option isn't going to help those who had flights and accommodation booked. I'm a Gold Member so I knew I'd be hunting for scraps, but if I had 9000 points I would be absolutely livid.
We have over 9k and this was the first one I could travel to, due to caring responsibilities. Armchair fan for this, still at least I have my 3 home game package. I agree we should know the breakdown of who is getting the tickets, should away st holders really get priority for all Euro games? If, thise who put name down for charter flight get tickets without meeting points criteria, there will be carnage. I wouldn’t bet against it, because, if 50 people on 8-10k points booked seats on charter flight, they will ask for refund. Would Charter company be happy to fly with empty seats and possibly losing money? Personally I don’t think so

Anyone know where their Ultras (or similar) sit?

At some of these European clubs there’s often a lively element that sit next to the away supporters enclosure, for confrontation.

Mate of mine was to view at 7 this morning before first phase opened. There were already large sections greyed out and not available. I assume split between the fanatics, players and officials guests and this charter option

Basically there were never 1500ish ticket available as they intimated as chunk of these already allocated. I would normally accept my fate with allocations but this one feels unfair and club not transparent 1762377197798.webp

Do family and Officials sit there ? Would they not be in corporate? There are approximately 800-900 away season ticket holders, from that it would seem they virtually all bought one 🤔. I have over 9k points but am always happy to accept those that go to all games deserve priority but this does seem odd. I agree club is not being transparent

I'd guess the majority of away season ticket holders are going as there's clearly a lot of interest in the game. Then add HF and charter tickets there's not gonna much left over hence it selling out in the first phase. Have no gripe with the above getting their tickets just wish the allocation was bigger, but that's not possible. Had a season ticket for 30 years so hopefully that still gives me a good chance for away tickets when we play the big boys in the Europa/Champions League next year 😉

From looking at this thread and the BBS, it seems that you need a foreign credit card. Guess that would have to be linked to an overseas address.

So, it seems there are quite a few in the home end.

That might not be perfect but there definitely is a way to get in and the bars full of Palace will be great.

I'm one of the lucky ones that got a ticket, but others in my party on 10k points weren't able to buy.

I don't understand how the greyed out seats work because if they were allocated to CPFC officials/players etc., then surely they would be together, not randomly situated.

It’s the lack of transparency that annoys me. No mention of away holders getting priority in the message from the club

I was of the opinion the charter tickets were only for those paying premium for hospitality, which is near halfway line. Booking the cheaper ticket on flight did not, apparently guarantee a ticket

Yes - any kind of non-UK card allows you to buy tickets. I know at least 10 others who are going to be dotted around the home end. It wouldn't surprise me if there's 100s of Palace in the Strasbourg end.

Away ST holders get access before anyone else, usually a day or so in advance. They have to commit to 17 out of 19 PL games and will lose their AST if they don't. If someone is committing to that, then I'd assume they are also home ST holders, so they would be in the top levels of Parish points. Whilst we can all come up with a hundred reasons why the system is unfair, especially when we don't get a ticket, I find it hard to justify being prioritised over the AST holders. This game was always going to be over subscribed, pretty much everyone I know has made arrangements to travel to Strasbourg whereas a lot haven't booked for Dublin as they felt they'd have no chance of a ticket.

There are under 350 AST holders this season, my view is that AST holders should get first dibs regardless of points.

HF should only get tickets in the same phases as everyone else.

The cynic in me thinks that perhaps despite what the club say about the charter flight not including a ticket and the offer that the £399 would be refunded if you did not get a ticket that they soon worked out that a lot of people would be cancelling and the charter would either have to be cancelled or run at a heavy loss and therefore changed their mind.

Away season ticket holders should not jump ahead of people with 10k or 11k points.

One can be snapped up for a season, while the other takes many years of loyalty.

If, like you say, the away ticket holders would be in the top level of points, then that would not be a problem then.

Not necessarily disagreeing, but playing devil's advocate. So someone who attended say 5 games last season and maybe a couple this year (including Wembley) but has 10k historic points should be prioritised over someone with a AST who has attended every game? Are ASTs advertised as I dont ever recall seeing these anywhere? I would presume there are entry requirements to stop someone buying one for one season.

I’m travelling with my Mum to Strasbourg (went with my Dad to Lublin for the Dynamo game)

We have three days in Strasbourg. Wednesday morning we fly from London City Airport to Frankfurt-am-Main by noon, and get the train down from Frankfurt to Strasbourg.

We plan to spend a bit of time in Frankfurt, have lunch there, and look around, then be in Strasbourg by evening time to settle down in the hotel and do the same in Strasbourg.

Day of the match we’re planning to cram in as much as possible during the daytime. Written down four potential sights, will probably have time for three of them before the game;

* Cathédrale Notre-Dame-De-Strasbourg (big church)

* Petite-France (old fashioned village)

* Cave Historique des Hospices de Strasbourg (wine cellars)

* Jardin Botanique de l’Universite de Strasbourg (botanical gardens)

On our final day (Friday) we don’t expect we’ll have much time to do that much, we fly back from Frankfurt at 5pm but it’s three hours on the train and I’m assuming we will have to be a couple of hours early to get through the airport. So possibly leaving Strasbourg around noon, meaning we’ll just go for a meal in the morning before we set off.

Yes, Strasbourg is the most beautiful city to visit in our Euro away campaign.
