Can't help falling in love

agree with the sentiment here

feels it's some some contrived corporate marketing sh!te to copy Anfield playing 'you'll never ..' before every game

that might work in Liverpool where if there is a chance there is to wrap a sentimental wrapper on anything going on they grab it - and lots of very sad things to happen - and fair play if that reflects their culture then that's good for them to get some deep emotional connection from it

I don't think it matches up to who Palace are, or South London or London in general

Agree , w*nk non Palace song.
Glad all over. Town called Malice is the one I remember when I was younger, before the game.
Until we get a Palace Louis Dunford , to knock out a South London version of ‘ North London Forever’,Leave it alone.
When we stayed up a few years and played 3 little birds (don’t worry about a thing ) Bob Marley , that was good.

Spot on.

It’s a great song but playing it as we kick off just removes the upbeat tempo created from GAO as we walk out. Would prefer us to get our own song for the pre kickoff moment. Something unique and more up tempo. But also something that continues on after the whistle.

Yesterday the stadium started the game quite flat I thought after that song and it took a while to get going.

Apologies for the second post on this topic, but in case the Powers That Be check this site for fan sentiment...

It is a fantastic, fabulous, wonderful song for expressing one's feeling for another person. And it's a terrible, awful, pathetic, miserable song for singing in support of a football team. Despite being a positive, upbeat, respectful, optimistic, old-school fellow, if I were at Selhurst I would add my voice to the chorus of boos.

Would an old-fashioned fan-organized petition help the cause?

I really like it. We adopted it during our famous FA Cup win and I think we should now always include it as well as Glad all over...
If we compromised, I'd accept it as our Cup anthem and go back to the originals for the league. We'd then be so cool and big time that we have a cup song, a league song and a Europe song maybe. Something like Turning Japanese would be ironic for Europe. Or The Final Countdown to be less obscure.

I’ll join the list. When I heard it I thought it was Perry Como (an old US crooner from last century). Probably Woody Johnson’s favourite and played at the Met….is thats why the Jets keep losing? Please get rid of it.

I haven't written on here for ages. I've been a supporter sunce 1970.
What has woken me up, you ask?
Unfortunately can't get to matches these days, but still watch as many games as possible.
I have been hearing the kickoff song, Can't Help falling in love.
It's really, really awful as a song to play at kickoff.
My first thouhjt was someone was trying to turn us into Liverpool.
We are Palace and if a kickoff song was needed it should br upbeat not a funeral dirge.
I think in the past the music DJ has tried to introduce a new song.
This should go the way of them.
