Wilfried Zaha return

To be fair to Wilf, he has some right to be p*ssed off. To be name checked when there were several players involved, you can see why that irked him. But I do think Wilf has handled this badly. He could easily have gone "you know what, it was hurtful that we laughed at him. It disappointed me that he only named me, but I am glad to see how well he's doing now". Anyway, handbags. A great player of old vs a player who wears our colours today. Hopefully blows over like it deserves to.

A classy response would have been to congratulate JPM for proving him wrong.

Should also add that he's not a player that's famous for making erudite and informed commentaries. I enjoyed him going on about "we rubbed Brighton's face in it you feel me fam" but this isn't the response of a guy that has form for humble and objective statements.

God bless him though, on the pitch he gave us one hell of a lot of joy.

I think our current( to by honest unexpected) success may have irked Zaha as for however hard he toiled it did not happen during his time with us prompting him to moving on to greener pastures (so he thought) and we now have European football the F.A.Cup and the Community Shield without him and the front line is led by someone he thought of as a joke. It is one of lifes crueller jokes and we have now witnessed how furious he is.

And now he's alienating the only fans in the country who've supported him.
Doubt the Man U players were that impressed by his training performances either.

I loved Wilf as a player, but he has s*** for brains.

There's a lot of it about.

Oh! the irony, i expect his bitterness will increase and as you quite rightly say he will work his way into the pantomime villain status.

I find myself not really caring what arguments footballers are having on social media. I'm pretty sure it's all about their profile.
It is all very sad though. Zaha may well have thought to stay and Mateta would have never made an impact and Zaha would be holding a cup and a shield, lead the team out on their European adventure proud and happy.

Maybe. But maybe we wouldn't have won anything with Zaha? We can't predict the future. I did think that he should have renewed his contract with us rather than join Galatasaray or whoever for less. And I think in hindsight he probably thinks that. But hindsight is usually right isn't it. I can't fathom how Wilf thought Turkey would work out? Had he not looked into it at all? Or was it just the property prices? Who knows.

It is for the very reason that we don't have him that we have won things. The current manager sees strength in unity and Zaha is one of those pouting prima donna types who was erroneously pandered by previous managers. He even had his big chance with a move to the biggest club in the land (particularly then) but that went poorly for him. No club came seriously in for him when Parish put him up for sale, which speaks volumes.
