US Politics

Jimmy Kimmels mockery crossed a line by politicising a tragedy and pointing fingers without evidence.

Condemning the act while speculating on motives risks fanning flames, not understanding them.

Canceling him isn’t about silencing analysis it’s about accountability for reckless rhetoric.

The doctor found out what happens when you celebrate murder and assassination so to did the fire chief and now so has kimmel.

The left have such a disregard for human life it's actually disgusting that they can make jokes and celebrate it.

They all had their moment of silence, knee taking, rioting and burning down cities when a criminal died of a dug overdose a few years ago. But when the right right have peaceful prayers and vigils for a kind soul that did nothing but debate the looney lefties they stamp all over the flowers and celebrate his death.

You are part of this toxic ideology and you contribute to the flames in your denial of it. At the end of the day you are only gaslighting yourself.
There’s plenty of evidence for what Jimmy Kimmel said. The politicisation of this tragedy arises exclusively from the right, with their attempts to blame the left, when the truth is that it actually falls on them.

If the right had held up their hands and admitted responsibility, on hearing the alleged confession from a guy whose family think had become more left leaning recently and was romantically involved with a transsexual, then we could be on the way to a reconciliation.

The guy is said to have said he had “had enough” of Charlie Kirk’s antagonism and this resulted in him taking extreme action. If the right accepted that it is their aggression towards those who don’t conform to their ideas that lies behind this tragedy then it would start the healing. Most people can swallow anger and fight with arguments but some cannot. We see the same on both sides of politics. The difference is the right seem incapable of recognising it. Or at least most cannot. Governor Cox being a shining example of responsible Republicanism in the words he is speaking. I hope he stands against Vance the next time. He is a decent man.

Political violence is a scourge that ought to unite everyone. Instead we have most of the right trying to ramp it up with some unbelievable rhetoric.

What a despicable post - victim blaming at its worst.

Your defense of Kimmels reckless mockery hinges on flimsy, unverified claims and motives which conveniently fit your narrative. Typical lefty dodging your own stench.

The lefties are quick to sanctify their outrage while cheering or excusing violence when it suits them. Kimmel is an example.

You are dodging yet again. Ignoring the lefts fetish for chaos over calm vigils. Blaming Charlie Kirk on hearsay is a weak move from a weaker mind.

Political violence festers when you gaslight and deflect which is exactly what you are doing. Ignoring your own toxic rhetoric.

At least Governor cox has the guts to own up unlike you hiding behind Kimmels cheap shots like a fanboy.

Kimmel doesn’t need defending. He hasn’t done anything wrong. He has upset the baby in the White House who has put one of his acolytes in charge of the regulator who has leaned on the broadcaster. That’s naked political interference in free speech and an obvious transgression of their constitution. Trump has done this before. Using the power of his office to his personal advantage.

Only this evening, on leaving the UK, he openly threatened to withdraw the licence to broadcast from anyone who criticised him. That’s a big step away from a free press and towards authoritarianism.

You clearly don’t listen to Kimmel. He never cheers or excuses violence. That’s entirely in your imagination. He has not blamed Charlie Kirk either. I have blamed the ideas he, and others on the right, held. I think they are mistaken but that Charlie Kirk was sincere in believing in them.

The left has no fetish for violence! What a silly idea. They are the ones who treasure diversity and respect within a homogeneous society. That doesn’t include groups fighting one another.

Your reference to “calm vigils” seems intended to bring in the way ultra conservative opponents to abortion try to intimidate those seeking help from clinics. People exercising their legal rights are entitled to do so, every much as religious activists are entitled to protest. What neither are entitled to do is break the law. Whether calmly or not. Once again this is the right abusing the system.

I am glad to read you like Governor Cox. He looks like he could be the healer the USA so desperately needs. I do like Kimmel. He makes me laugh as much as he makes me think. Trump is always ridiculous so ridicule is the most appropriate way of reducing him to size. He will be back.

Wasn't Kimmel taken off air because of a complaint from the FCC rather than because he'd upset Trump?

Shameful. Blaming everyone except the guy who did it and what he represents.

What else should we expect from someone who thinks that Oct 7 was Israel's fault

Your claim that Kimmel has done nothing wrong is laughable. His snide mockery of a tragedy isn’t free speech it’s reckless fuel for division.

Crying “authoritarianism” while ignoring the left’s own censorship games is peak hypocrisy and I expect nothing less from you.

You blame Charlie kirks ideas based on zero evidence just vibes and based on nothing but rumors is intellectual cowardice, try facts next time. 👍🏻
You are also dodging the lefts obsession with chaos, riots and looting which get a pass on but peaceful vigils get sneered at. 🤷🏻‍♂️

The left’s diversity and respect stick falls apart when you demonise anyone who disagrees. Seeking help from abortion murder clinics? Seek help yourself if you think like this. It is a weak attempt to sidestep the issue at hand.
