Should OG walk

we don't know what was said, true, but if Guehi had been allowed to leave without a replacement coming in don't you think there's a very good chance OG might have walked?
Can you recall a manager flouncing over transfers?

I seem to recall Pulis and Allardyce citing it as a reason for not staying (and where are they both now?) but for them it was more of a fire fighting task - which they completed - and they never saw staying long term as an option.

But a manager saying: Sir, I write to express my dissatisfaction with your performance in the "Transfer Window" and I, accordingly and with little regret, tender my resignation with immediate effect. Yours etc...

I can't. And who would risk such a manager?

I do not believe that OG will walk away until the end of his contract in the summer.
The irony for me is that I believe OG has reached his limit with teams like Palace and Frankfurt.
Absolutely his stock is high and bigger clubs will come a calling for his services. However how many of these “bigger” clubs will his tactics be accepted/tolerated?
OG has a clear idea on how he sees the game and how he sets up his team. This pretty much requires a high press and quick transitions. We do not play with the ball and rely on these turnovers for our goals. I think it is great for teams like Palace as it is in our DNA. However the bigger clubs all want high possession and tippy tappy football that does not suit OG style.
The grass is not always greener!
Supposedly, Bayern wanted OG before they moved for Kompany. The latter tried to get a small team playing like a big team and it ultimately failed. However, he has succeeded in playing the same way with Bayern. This highlights the fact that some managers are suited to different platforms. I agree that OG's system is more suited to a club like ours, so it is really a question of whether he could adapt. Amorim's failure at United may cause some big clubs to pause for thought given Glasner plays a similar system.

Regardless of whether he would be a success at a big club or not, Glasner is clearly a man driven by a desire to win. If we can't match his ambition he will leave. I don't think we can and I think he will.

Pulis wanted an avoid relegation bonus in cash. Don't be fooled by the revisionism. Big Sam probably wanted something we never heard about. Like 2 mil for a newspaper interview.

I think OG will see out his contract and then be approached by a "bigger" club. There are a number of clubs who spend big but don't have the manager with the ability to organise the playing staff into a winning outfit.
The only way we could possibly retain his services is by finishing top 6 and entering the Champions League the season after. I think he would be tempted by such an opportunity! And... Marc Guehi might like the sound of it too. Win win all round!
Are you sure top 6 get Champions League?
BBC Sports App states top 4 only and 5th to Europa League!
Top 6 isn’t out of the question for Palace

I look at it this way , if he and Guehi dont see eye to eye the whole team will fall apart , if OG did say he would walk , then how do the rest of the squad feel , I know if I was part of that team I would feel totally let down by Glasner and his actions , they trusted him and played his system and then turned his back on them , not a good look for Glasner , but as I have said before , think lot of the storys are guessing games not based on fact by the media

If we finish fifth or sixth then watch how the Premier League's coefficient would have suddenly changed, where only the top 4 go through. And no extra spaces for multiple winners.
Multi-club ownership, however, will be completely fine.
England have 4 Champions League spots, but they will gain another spot (the European Performance Spot) if England are one of the top two associations for earning UEFA coefficient points this season. At present these places are held by Cyprus or Denmark from their performance in qualification.

Ironically, if we finish 5th in the Premier League this season, we could get into next year’s Champions League as a result of Forest winning the Europa League!
