Has Parish ruined this season?

No he hasn’t ruined our season, but from where I’m sitting it wasn’t for the lack of trying.
It’s a transfer window that, if he’s honest with himself, has been handled appallingly. We’ve had our finest ever manager on the verge of walking, and all the fans suffering from frayed nerves and worn finger nails.
There appears to have been very little attempt to bolster the squad, despite his attempts to sell our most dangerous playmaker and Captain at what are, quite frankly, ludicrously inadequate fees.
I’d love to know how the relationship works between him and his multi billionaire shareholder colleagues,
I for one am not shedding any tears that we’ve kept our Captain but lost £35 million. Our investors can afford it, and if they don’t like it then they know where the exit is. Meanwhile, onwards and upwards for the team. We want success on the pitch, not on the bank statement.

I get your feeling but the loss of actually £31.6 million after Chelsea’s cut is going to be made up in club decisions. Another player sold or sold earlier. One less player bought. Those kind of decisions.

No-one knows how Glasner feels or what was said between him and Parish other than Glasner and Parish. Its all paper talk trying to make every rumour into dramas for clicks. Glasner obviously wants to have the best players, the money is not his responsibility. He wants the best options to make this season the most successful for him. Then next summer Man Utd unload a truck load more money at his house. Players and managers come and go the club has to look to the future and not throw a tantrum every transfer window. The last 15 years have been great. The 15 before that were terrible. Hoping for another 15 in the vain of the last few years. We won the FA Cup and Charity Shield. Minor setbacks happen all the time at our level. Players get long term injuries, players leave, players won't sign new contracts, managers resign. At least we are not Man Utd supporters.

Parish will always have the best interests of the club at heart. If not for him we wouldn't be anywhere where we are today. With parish we could do another 10+ years in the premier league with a few more cup runs.

We arnt the "big 6" we can't keep our players and we do have to sell.

I guess my only issue was that we should have had the replacements in January or during the summer. And that the UEFA dibalacal should have been put to rest sooner.

Seems this summer we have taken an age to do anything. Season ticket renewals, memberships, pre season tour announcements, kits, transfers, even the training gear isn't on sale yet.

Plus at least two look like they might be very good. Uche sounds ready made for us. Pino is a lot different to Eze (everyone is really) so we'll have to see how that goes. He did a couple of good things in his last match.
Our worst current concern are injuries but at least there's an International break for some recovery time and integration into the squad.

OG wants the best team and success, SP wants a sustainable business. sometimes these 2 things do not completely align. £35M to us was obviously critical, hence the demotion of Uche to a Loan... and we have other positions and players to provide and get cover for.

OG's stance is completely understandable, more so if this agreement to sell by a particular date was in place, albeit seemingly a little naive to how a transfer window works in reality..
but SPs stance is also understandable; not wanting to lose that chunk of money for the sake of business and PSR/FFP. But it was him that let this situation develop - He didn't stick to agree'd deadlines, and looked to sell MG right up to the end, which was obviously upsetting OG. At the same time MG was asking to leave, or maybe he also had an agreement that he could leave (after the conference league game for example) that SP was trying to fulfil.

Really, SP's failing was not sticking to his agreements(which happened with Eze too). He should have either stuck to his agreements, or not made them in the first place. It screams of him simply not able to say 'no' to anyone, or properly manage expectations. In the end we're left with (probably) a disgruntled manager and a (likely) disappointed defender, both of which may affect performances, and in the worst case scenario may see OG walk.

Has Parish ruined our season? no. but he could have managed it so much better, to the point that he could have put it in jeopardy.

Given our relative lack of financial backing the transfer window wasn't bad.
I would rather lose £35M on Guehi in January or next summer than see us relegated without him. It's also made up for, if we finish 10 places higher by hanging on to Mark. He should also be praised for staying put although will always have his best interest at heart.
Also do we have to believe the paper talk that Glasner would have followed Guehi out the door?
Great to finally get Edouard's wages off our books and hopefully a hard working Pino will prove a good option compared to a brilliant but increasingly lazy Eze.

As far as I'm concerned Parish has screwed up yet again by entering the transfer market to late thus reducing our options for players that were left in the market which means you end up paying more for players as prices increase significantly towards the end of the transfer any window.

We now have an unhappy manager, who could walk in to the Bayer Leverkusen job tomorrow if he wants and we also now have a Club Captain who has not been treated very well, fortunately for Parish he is such a sound and honest person he will still fulfil his obligations to the club and probably leave on a free next summer, by which time Parish errors will have added to the clubs losses from the UEFA mistake £20Mil + £35Mil for Marc = £55mil.

Its absolutely ridiculous that we left everything to the last 48 hours of this last window and I'm sorry for those Parish fans who love him but the reality is he is way above his competence level and all he is interested in, is feeding his ego by appearing on as many media outlets that will have him feeding his celebrity profile that he so dearly loves!

If all the players we’ve bought at the end of window have cost more like you say, why has Parish been doing it all these years? And don’t say it’s because he’s disorganised because if it was so bad why are we in the premier league for 13 years?

Don’t you think it might be because he extracts more value late in the window? This doesn’t help the manager prepare but can provide better resources with our comparatively smaller budgets.
