Should OG walk

Moving forwards, we really need some guidance from our senior shareholders on what their aspirations are for CPFC.
In the modern game, it is now nearly all money driven. We are very fortunate to have three very rich, powerful and experienced American shareholders.
Admittedly the third member Woody Johnston has only just joined by removing Textor ( a dubious character at best) for some $200M and securing a 43% stake in the process.
I believe our three senior shareholders and Parish now need to get together to discuss our activities since Woody joined and decide how they want to move Palace forwards. I can't believe they are happy with our actions over the past two months. They have been knee jerk reactions without any proper planning.
The club needs to draw up some clear policies and plans to take us forward in a direction they want us to go. We really can't afford to carry on as we have through the past few weeks.
As fans, but complete outsiders to our owners plans, judging by the activity on here most of us have been quite shocked by this. I believe it is in the interest of the club and its owners to for them to let us know as soon as possible how they are planning to advance things from today. They have bought into a great club with an extraordinary history with a fan base that has built an amazing reputation around the world of football and beyond.
We have got a quality base of fans, players, team management and club management to build upon. It clearly needs significant funding to progress positively and that responsibility lies fully with the shareholders.
Hopefully they are fully aware of this and we will start to see/hear how they are planning to take 'our' great club forwards. They have a fantastic opportunity at their feet this morning. It will be very interesting through the next few months to see how they react.
There's entitled! (in the voice of Gladys Pugh)

Put your money in and become a shareholder and you can have all in inside information you want - otherwise; their money, their club and their decisions.

Uhmm why then as reported on virtually all media this morning did Glasner have to resort to threatening to walk if Guehi was sold.
To me this has all the signs of Parish actioning the transfer after he knew the Igor signing wouldn’t happen and this triggering OG’s ultimatum.

Because they are all liars.

One media outlet, or some moron on talksports says "I reckon its fallen apart because OG threatened to leave".

And it sounds liek a good story, so everyone now publishes it like its fact.

Time and time again the media are show to publish complete and utter fabrications. They keep doing it because they can, and the clicks keep them in a job.

You could be right, but it seems unlikely because Guehi is England's best centre back and Igor was Brighton's 4th choice injury prone centre back.
I don't think even Igor's family would see Igor as an adequate replacement for Guehi.
We would be taking a backward step.
As Glasner starkly put it, the club had a choice as to whether it wanted a successful season or not.

Glasner also believed that the understanding with the club was that the replacement would be in place in July for pre season, not a few hours before the end of the window.
Agree with this, OG is a genius coach and we're lucky to have him, as are the players who have master as their boss

No substance, just guess work. Show me where a quote from either Glasner or Parish confirms your story.

I've always been a Parrish loyalist, few gripes but he's been generally great for us, but he has come out of this window looking a bit two bob - there has to be a balance between budgeting and affecting the integrity of the squad - there's always going to be brinkmanship with other clubs with transfers, but on balance the right thing to do was to get the replacements in early and not wait for the sales of Eze and Guehi to fund them, it might have cost us £10mil or so since other clubs know the stars have to go so can lower their offers but that's where you place your risk not risking us starting the season 'below the edge' as OG puts it, and disrespecting his concerns. In light of the start last season and Glasner's pronouncements it was poor practice to wait this late - but with five in and the outgoings it has turned out to be a good window. Guehi might go in Jan for £15mil or so which would help with another defender, unless Riad shows signs of recovery, and if Doucoure can do a Lazarus we might have a great season with what we've got now.

As OG said only recently dont beleive everything you read, hear, see in the media!!
That is true, but it doesn’t say don’t believe anything you get from the media.
Julio, was not by most people’s judgement a decent replacement for Guehi,. It’s highly possible OG said no way on that deal, and the player moved on. Who thought the deal up I wonder ? We know how he viewed the situation with no replacement, so of course there is every chance his discussion with Parish, amounted to an ultimatum.

This is all speculation. Oliver Glasner reputedly said that Mark Guehi should not be allowed to leave unless we had signed a suitable replacement. How do we know that there was an ultimatum or confrontation between Glasner and Parish? Maybe Parish ageed with him but just tried to sign a replacement up until the end when he finally had to pull the plug as it did not materialise. We may never know the truth but adverse speculation just enhances bad feeling amongst the conspiracy theorists. Personally I would have paid £35 million to have Mark Guehi for another season. Without him relegation could have been a possibility and how much would that ultimately cost? Also without him we would have undoubtedly have finished in a lower position if we weren't relegated and how much lost Sky revenue would we lose for every position lost?

Would you want Brighton 5th choice centre back. Brighton fans don’t rate and he can’t displace Dunk who is average
Absolutely not ! i couldn't belive we were even considering it when i heard it . I thought it was a wind up.

Where all the media in the room then?

Maybe Glasner did, all i am saying is that we don't know what happened, nor do the media, i am just happy Guehi is still at Palace.

It’s much more news to report that Glasner “threatened to walk” than to say they decided to pull the plug in the absence of a decent replacement. As Glasner said just last week “ Don’t believe everything you read”!
