Manuel Akanji

Yeah, there is nothing inherently wrong with signing a 30yo if the player, amount and circumstances are right.

If we are struggling to find the right players who will come straight in and perform but also gain value then I’d rather this than no player at all. The value we’d lose seems to be less than what we would for Guehi and over a longer period 🤷‍♂️

Apparently Akanji is considering his options. Feels like this one is now the key deadline day transfer decision. If he decides to come then Guehi goes. If he says no then Guehi stays at least until January. Not sure which would please me more. My heart hopes Guehi sees out his contract but my head says getting Akanji for £15 million on a 3 year deal while selling Guehi and making a £20 million profit is too good to miss. Sorry Ollie!

Yep agree.

At least with Akanji, he knows the league, and can perform to a high level from the off.

Will City want to inadvertently do Liverpool a favour?!

will Man Citeh employ shenanigans to delay any deal between us & Akanji just to prevent Liverpool getting Geuhi?

I doubt Citeh are that petty-minded.

My understanding is that Akanji wasn't convinced of a move to Palace and was considering his options so unless he can be convinced he won't be coming here, hence our also looking at a loan move for Salisu
Sadly I think all top 6 clubs are very petty

It's a tough choice Croydon or Milan not sure I could choose:

Milan famous for it's cathedral, Last Supper Painting, fashion, beautiful women and fantastic food and a world famous team.

Croydon famous for the Whitgift centre (derelict) , Zaha Mural, Croydon face lift, Tasty Jerk and a soon to be world famous team.

Sigh decisions, decisions.

Don’t forget the dinosaurs at Palace Park 😂 one of the seven wonders ain’t they?

Thornton Heats nice this time of year 😀 🤣

Assuming they continue to get paid as per their current contracts, Akanji would cost the team around 6 million more this season and would have a couple more years at a wage approaching double anyone else in the squad
I'd rather keep Guehi and hope in January Liverpool are still after him, and top European clubs are talking to him, and that by then Canvot, Riad and maybe Salisu are starter quality. It would also go some way to stop pissing Glasner off

Palace. In spitting distance of the Tulse Hill estate. If that doesn’t swing it, nothing will.

In fairness outside of the Cathedral square and the “golden triangle” of shopping streets Milan is actually an absolute dump. Really run down and crime ridden. Is near the lakes and the alps though.

Liverpool have upped their offer for Guehi. Testing Parish’s ability to resist. Supposedly we’ve said we’d take it if they give us Gomez on loan but Liverpool have refused. Spurs in the mix for Akanji too. Surely SP won’t do the unthinkable and accept the offer without a replacement.
