Uefa Conference League

🟢 Easiest possible set of ties

  • Pot 1: Slovan Bratislava (Slovakia) → weaker than Fiorentina/AZ/Shakhtar.
  • Pot 2: Shamrock Rovers (Ireland) → domestic dominance but not close to top-tier Europe.
  • Pot 3: Celje (Slovenia) → Champions League qualifiers but no real depth.
  • Pot 4: Lincoln Red Imps (Gibraltar) → semi-pro squad, big drop in standard.
  • Pot 5: Breiðablik (Iceland) → punchy at home, but lowest UEFA coefficient in pot.
  • Pot 6: Ħamrun Spartans (Malta) → strong locally, but weakest overall.
✅ This would be a dream draw for Palace — very winnable across the board.

🔴 Toughest possible set of ties

  • Pot 1: Fiorentina (Italy) → European finalists, Serie A pedigree.
  • Pot 2: Dynamo Kyiv (Ukraine) → European pedigree, difficult away conditions.
  • Pot 3: Mainz (Germany) → Bundesliga intensity and depth.
  • Pot 4: AEK Athens (Greece) → passionate support, strong tactical side.
  • Pot 5: Raków Częstochowa (Poland) → recent European group stage, hard-working pressing side.
  • Pot 6: Häcken (Sweden) → goals everywhere, turf surface makes away tie awkward.
❌ This would be a brutal draw — full of hostile atmospheres, clever tactical sides, and high-intensity opposition.

Good analysis, think you. Noticed there is a fair chance of an east European trip with Polish and Ukrainian sides playing in Poland.

Personally think a home or away tie against Aberdeen would be interesting for atmosphere.

Thanks for sharing that.
All games are going to be tough with our squad size. Rarely do we win by a big margin and last night shows a combination of a small squad and Glasners reluctance to rotate will lead to burnout unless we see significant moves in the transfer window that Glasner is happy with

You cant rotate if you have nothing to rotate with .OG did what he could with what he had bringing Kamada (Devenny) and Sosa (Mitchell) in .The only other possible would have been Clyne for Munoz but we all know how important the latter is to the side so that would probably be a lets see how goes situation .
We need at least 4 players added to the squad , 2 permanent and 2 loans for me as cover for the long term injured

That was such an important game that he was always going to stick with a team he trusted. Definitely not one for Esse. Once the window closes and he has the squad drilled to his system he will rotate more. Thankfully we have a month or so before the Conference ties begin.

Are we only able to face one team from a country in the league phase, or is it two max like in the UCL?

Also, is TNT the only option to watch the draw? I have TNT but will be at work when it’s on, my Da only has Sky but I know he’d like to watch if possible.

Tell Linford Snr to look on here. He'll have more information than he can shake a stick at and possibly an opinion or two on the draw.

when we could possibly play teams like Mamrun Spartans of Malta, Lincoln Red Imps of Gibraltar or Noah, I can’t believe there’s any palace fans who are not looking forward to being part of this, great stuff, fcuk uefa and all that, but I’m more than happy where we are

I think others have stated it before, but you know we’re going draw Samsunspor 😀

I'd like to see us against some of the big team teams and not just hope for the 'weaker' ones. Afterall, I wanted us to be in the Europa League, so I want us to play some teams with that pedigree.

Whoever we get though, I'm really excited now.

One of the issues we have is our opponent's (not quite all of them but most of them) leagues are so rubbish that they can save their best for the European ties. It's the opposite in our case.
Any Premier League side in the conference league should be using as many second string, young, rotation and returning players they can. If not then why, for instance, are Fredrikstad players paid less than Remi Matthews for example? It's pretty doubtful that more than one or two of the Fredrikstad players would be ok in our U21s. And they played just like league one sides do to confirm that. I'd go as far as to say they wouldn't do well in league one.

I wouldn't mind playing a team from Transylvania, to a remote football pitch deep in the Carpathian mountains. The nearest hotel is a large castle set up high, and the home team only plays evening matches under the floodlights. 😀

You'd no doubt see lots of excellent crosses, if only in the hands of the away supporters.
