It may be with a penalty you have one chance touch or not. If you go past the ball your chance has gone. You can’t feign like a corner or free kick. That’s all I can think. I’m sure a poster will enlighten us.

According to IFAB Laws of the Game 14, if a penalty taker feints (stops or hesitates) after completing their run-up, it is an illegal act of unsporting behaviour. The referee will caution (yellow card) the player and award an indirect free kick to the defending team from the spot of the infringement.

Correct me if I’m wrong, but in my first match at Palace (v Millwall March 76) I seem to remember Peter Taylor taking a pen which ended up somewhere near the corner flag. Anyone else remember this? Match ended 0-0.

from the Whitehorse Lane terraces it certainly looked closer to the corner flag than the goal.
