World Cup 2026: Uefa claim 'integrity of the game is at stake' over Fifa's Folarin Balogun decision
Uefa says Fifa's decision not to uphold Folarin Balogun's immediate ban at the World Cup is "unprecedented, incomprehensible and unjustifiable".www.bbc.com

It's not unprecedented. It happened due to Ronaldo having a tantrum before. Was it the Euros or qualification - can't remember? You know it must be ‘questionable’ if even UEFA are unhappy

If its anything like the more recent bare twigs they can keep itIf England beat Norway, will they still send us a Christmas tree?

See above: it was done for Ronaldo before. The problem is that it sets an unwelcome precedent.
Where do we go from here, as Tuchel says.
Typical of the USA in my view.

It made him available for the world Cup - or he would have been suspended for the first two games. It wasn't reduced either: it's the same thing. He'll still have to serve the suspension at some stage. So will Balogun. But clearly not here.it is unprecedented during the World Cup where there is no appeal process.
The Ronaldo one is slightly different - his red card ban was reduced from 3 matches to 1 - he still served a suspension. It was also in a WC qualifier, so not during the WC itself.

Chris Wilder signed him on Loan for Middlesbrough. The Balogun 'royal pardon' is so way out of order that I can't believe it's real.
How do FIFA ever have any credibility going forward? Trump has over stepped badly on this one.
I get that there is a financial and political advantage to the USA going deep into the competition, but this blasts the integrity of football apart.
As an aside, I wouldn't mind signing Balogun. He looks half decent.

Sounds relatively typical.Trump's press conference was incredible. This World Cup is four times more successful than anything else has ever been. So successful that he's suggested to "Gianni" that it should be in America next time as well, maybe sharing it with someone else, but "Gianni" said that would be difficult.
Balogun is the best...one of the best because they're all great, players so it would be unfair if he missed a whole game which hasn't been played yet.
And Trump plays golf with Harry Kane so he thinks he's a great guy.

I certainly true that using The World Cup as a scouting tool is notoriously unreliable.Chris Wilder signed him on Loan for Middlesbrough.
Some of their supporters felt he needed to build up his strength, some commenting that he was too weak and easily dispossessed.
