Wolves Predictions.

I expect us to lose or get a draw on Sunday.
Wolves are already in the "go for it" mode of play.
I guess in fact that our only hope is that they get too gung ho but I genuinely expect a loss on Sunday - I am sad to say.
A win would be amazing bot otherwise than that we are in deep poo.

Easy to say that now he’s got injured, but we were bad enough at the back WITH him last night, can you imagine a whole 90 minutes with Canvot and Riad. These two games would not have been needed if he’d gone with a strong team against Kups, so you can understand him not wanting any slip ups this time, even though we still looked poor with a strong team
Yes hindsight is 20:20 and all that but I did say this as soon as I saw the starting 11. You just knew we would be rubbish and get an injury to a key player. We need to be prioritising the League over the Conference. We aren’t going to win the Conference. We may not even make it past this stage. Relegation would be existential for us as a club so we simply have to focus on the League.

Lacroix was the one player we simply could not afford to lose as we have no cover for him in a back three. Playing him was stupid in foresight and even more stupid in hindsight

Wolves looks to be a tricky game.
In defence Lacroix will apparently be out with a muscle injury and Lerma is out for 3 weeks.
We may line up with a back 3 of error prone Canvot, Richards (unsuited to the central role) and unproven Riad.
Glasner has mentioned getting 'creative ' to find solutions suggesting even using Mitchell in defence.

I don't tend to like Glasner's creative solutions e.g Sosa at RWB, Devenny at number 10. The solutions often end in tears.

Against Burnley and last night we looked totally vulnerable to counter attacks, with opposition players running unchallenged into our penalty area.
He won't do it but surely it's a game for a back 4 of Munoz, Richards, Riad and Mitchell with 3 in midfield of Hughes, Kamada and Wharton.
Stiffening up the midfield and better balanced with more protection for the back 4 and ability to compete in duels.

I'm not sure about the attack.
Neither Pino nor Johnson look to be the answer on the left and it's too early to assess Guessand.
Our passing and crossing was shocking last night with very little created for Larsen even when we dominated the ball.

At the moment I'd be content with a 1-1 draw.
The problem with a 1-1 draw is that it'll prolong the agony re Parish sacking/placing on gardening leave Glasner.

I don't think any particular results are going to be a trigger. Results have been so consistently poor, that if a suitable replacement were available, Glasner would have been fired quite a few games ago.

This is all about stumbling on to the end of the season with a Manager who's already departed, and more injured players than fit ones.

In the Conference, i don't think Palace will progress very far. Although they're doing marginally better than their FA Cup 'run' 🙂
In the Premiership, Palace are going to be relying on the teams below continuing their poor run of form.

Beating Wolves is about as likely as beating Macclesfield.

Well we will see on Sunday similar trepidation to your self, I would like a bigger guy than Mitchell in Central defence but he is a trier. Riad is shaping up alright so far. We might win or get beat but both will impact on Glasner's tenure.

Glasner has said in his press conference today when asked if he would change systems that he tried a back 4 in training and it didn't work. So he's not going to be trying that in a game unfortunately.

That score line against wolves at selhurst rang a bell, remember when it all turned a bit toxic for Alan Smith?
I remember that game well. People throwing their already expired season tickets on the pitch.

Some bloke threw his on the pitch from the upper tier of the holmesdale, but he had forgotten that he kept all his bank cards in it. True story.

The end of the game was a disgusting way to treat Alan Smith. It made me feel ashamed to be a fan that day; such was the vitriol aimed at the manager.

2 nil to Palace

At that match there were chants of "Stand up if you want Smith out".

Apropos the game on Sunday, we might manage a draw.

What does that even mean! “It didn’t work” - in what way didn’t it work?
It didn’t let us be out manned in midfield or leave spaces in behind the wingbacks for the opposition to exploit.

It also didn’t let Glasner blame the board, fans and players rather than his tactics

It was a lot nastier than that. What had happened to he's got no hair but we don't care?

Hopefully the fans have more respect these days and remember the good times

I think our survival hopes rest more on West Ham not maintaining their form rather than us improving ours.

A draw at best for Sunday but expect the inevitable loss.
Yes your right we are all looking at the teams below us to keep losing to work in our favour- sad way to be a fan of a club that was to kick on - yet Parish did not have a Kick On plan over last summer

2-0 to Wolves 2001. Simon Jordan sacked him the following day.
