Will Hughes & the art of avoiding the second yellow

currently we appear to sub Hughes soon after each yellow.

As he has 3 bookings already in the league this season i suspect he'll be banned by the end of October and will get a 2 match ban (for 10 yellows) in Jan/Feb.

I have it on good authority they use Hughes’ bookings tally as the trigger for when to change the clocks from British Summer Time

I'm not surprised that Hughes is one of the players with the most yellow cards who are never sent off. I consider him one of our most intelligent players. I can't actually remember a single yellow card he received that was completely unnecessary or stupid. He's one of those players who always seems to know exactly what the game requires, although given some of his limitations, that doesn't mean he can always deliver this.

He has had a couple of rash ones to be fair - however, very few overall. He's certainly been booked for dissent and for throwing the ball away. I'd say before Glasner was here.

In terms of attitude (annoying, smirking in your face) he reminds me of Robbie Savage another player who you would think got sent off on a regular basis. Actually Savage was only sent off twice in his long career. They are both very good at what needs to be done.

I love Hughesy but like Savage I used to hate him when he played for Watford. I guess most teams need a player like that.

Savage's 1st ever sending off was due to our other Hughesy (Michael) taking him out for N.Ireland v Wales.

Savage was a little unlucky, but who cares!

Nothing wrong with a yellow, unless it turns into a red. Always gets stuck in, our Hughesy. Love him!
