Great player and all that but it's in the past and I'd rather Pino, Guessand, Mateta and Strand-Larsen have the opportunity instead.

In saying that....a wilf off the bench header at the amex in October with dunk on his ass would just pure ectasy.

I would take March over him.

There is a reason why he has failed at every place he has gone to outside of Palace.

Even that video he don't look that impressive missed open goal looked gassed at times and still laying around plus what else notice he was moaning claiming he knows what to do.

The guys toxic.

Look at what has been achieved at the club since he has been gone.

Agree and he threw his toys out the pram a few times yet still got his special treatment at the club.

Funny how he wanted to play in Europe and he leaves we go on and win one of those trophies.

Wonder if he will turn up at someone like West Ham it appears like he may have burnt many bridges and he is not being offered anything abroad anymore even the Americans don't want him because of his attitude.

You’re probably right but just think of him coming on at Selhurst when we’re chasing a game. The place would go mental if he scored !

Got us promoted then kept us up single handedly for years. To call him ‘toxic’ is a bit strong imo. And how do you know the Americans were fed up with his attitude?
 
His last season you could see he had lost his pace and kept slowing down the game. He wont have got quicker in the meantime so he's not the guy to have on the pitch for a quick counter attack.

If he's not good enough for the MLS then he's not good enough for the PL

Great player and my GOAT but let's leave it at that. great memories.
 
Nostalgia’s not what it used to be.

Loved him to bits, but also old enough to remember Johnny Byrne coming back and being terrible, slow and outclassed.
 
Some players (eg Andros Townsend, Yannick Bolassie) I could imagine coming back at the end of their careers and looking to make an impact off the bench. I am not suggesting we should be looking at these two by the way, just that their psychological makeup would suit them being an impact player and more generally being a positive influence around the dressing room and the club.

Wilfried would get irritated with that sort of role, and I do not see him displacing the current first team 10s or 9s. For these reasons I do not think it would be a good fit at the current time.
 
I’m not saying it’s a good or bad idea. What I do know is that 33 is no age for somebody that looks after themselves. I don’t think it would be his fitness or skill that would be in question, it would be in his ability to put up with somebody with much lesser skill being ahead of him in the pecking order. Wilf just fits into Palace, he has failed everywhere else. Could he do a job… possibly off the bench. Would he get the hump and strop… definitely… would the faithful sing his name… Yep.

Yep his decision making post Palace on the face of it looks poor outcome for him
