I don't pretend to be a structural engineer, or an architect (not even a fountain designer like the Italian guy you referenced in your earlier post).

But, have you ever read up on dynamic loading?

Static vs. Dynamic
Even though there was still ~80% of undamaged structure below the impact zone, this does NOT mean it was "progressively stronger". High-rise structures are NOT designed to handle dynamic loads in the gravity direction.

Dynamic, as opposed to static, means there are moving parts transferring load, or that the load itself changes direction or magnitude. A good example is aircraft landing gear, which retracts when it hits the ground to transfer loads into the rest of the landing gear mechanism.

When designing a landing gear, you do not design it to handle only the weight of the aircraft, but rather some multiplication of the aircraft's weight. A typical landing gear design will safely handle 4-5X the aircraft's weight. High-rise structures are not designed to the same limits as landing gears because they aren't expected to handle dynamic loads in the direction of gravity. In the case of the WTC towers, a floor collapsing onto the floor below was the dynamic load, and the sign that global progressive collapse had begun.

Failure modes
The structural elements failed in a few ways:

Material yielding - simply means the loads exceed the strength of the material and the structural member will literally shear, tear, bend, or deform to give way to the load.

Buckling - a specific type of failure where the vertical load exceeds the critical buckling force and causes a column to bend in different directions depending on how the ends are constrained. Short columns tend to fail at the material yield limit, while long slender columns tend to buckle before bending to the material yield limit before failing.

Critical buckling force is calculated by F = (pi2 E) / (KL/r)2 , where E is Young's Modulus, and KL is the effective length of the column, and KL/r is the slenderness ratio (r = radius of gyration). A thin column has small radius of gyration and a stocky column has large radius of gyration. The slenderness ratio determines elastic or inelastic mode of buckling failure.

Catenary failure - this is when beams (horizontal members) "sag" under the weight from above it has to support due to the loss or failure of a column underneath. This has the double action of pulling in adjacent columns inward while also pulling downward.

Sequence of events leading to failure
Now knowing these concepts, here is the sequence of events leading up to structural failure:

As an act of terrorism, a plane crashed into the building substantially changing the structural integrity of the overall frame.

The plane was loaded with jet fuel that in turn ignited office furnishings that had been concentrated in a corner by the force of impact.

The collision disrupted/loosened/knocked off fireproofing of structural members, especially the main span floor trusses that ran between the exterior wall and the interior core.

Over time the floor trusses began heating and losing their structural integrity, including sagging into a catenary mode. This eventually failed one end of their gravity/lateral mode connections. The failure to either end would be problematic for the unsupported length of the building's columns, and lowering its vertical load carrying capacity. The failure at the exterior wall is most likely due to heat and bolt sizing. Perhaps, those floor trusses then collapsed onto the lower level spread heat/fire to the adjacent stories and added to the heat exposure of the exterior columns, increasing their KL/r ratio beyond their design limit for steel at a given temperature. Or possibly, that failure mode might have initiated at a mid-story column splice.

The lack of support to the exterior columns continued until failure was initiated. A seam-like failure indicated a failure may have been imminent and only needed one to fail for all to fail.

Progressive collapse is initiated which is unstoppable once initiated.

Again, not an engineer, but the above seems a pretty convincing argument?

It doesn't adequately explain how they fell at virtually freefall (see the link below on this matter).
In relation to the highlighted sentence - this requires all 4 corners to fail simultaneously.
Jet fuel was able to melt steel beams, but not the hijackers' passport.

Bear in mind the internet and AI is heavily tilted towards the official narrative, and they have had 25 years to come up with this stuff, knowing that 90% will be satisfied if they just chuck in an incomprehensible equation or two (F = (pi2 E) / (KL/r)2)

We haven't even touched upon multiple other anomalies with that day that haven't been fully explained.

I'm not surprised there were reports of further explosions with thousands of gallons if aviation fuel catching fire and massive structural failure where the planes hit it wS inevitably going to have further explosions who knows wgst chemicals were in the building (legitimately) and of course you had the car park etc.

A sensible reality would be respecting the multiple brave survivors and witnesses who were there at the time who give the same account.


If people would rather accept the heavily air-brushed, big-tech approved version of 'reality' presented by AI 25 years later, then they are beyond saving IMO.

I first looked into these conspiracy theories 10 years ago, quite frankly it's insulting listening to you....someone who I've backed on here many times.....come out with the same argument as DanH about Ai.

The exact same arguments against your claims (footprints, freefall) were made back then. But apparently you think that because I used AI to save me time that I'm somehow doing something wrong or that it's wrong.

I had the position I wrote a decade ago.....I believe some conspiracy theories but I don't just believe all of them.....the evidence has to be there. I looked into the claims you stated long ago and it doesn't stand up.

People can read the differing logic (freefall v the actual reality) and observe the photo on 'completely into its footprints'....versus the reality of debris over 16 acres.

You were the guy who made these claims, it's not my fault that they are shot full of holes....and as for controlled demolition.....no sound of these controlled explosions when the buildings come down, instead we can literally see the bend in the trusses.....When I made this point someone said that the explosions were set off when the planes hit....which misses the logic that North Tower (1 WTC): still stood for about 102 minutes and South Tower (2 WTC): about 56 minutes after impact......because....you know....it takes time to weaken steel.

You said no steel frame collapses....again, not accurate. It has happened, just not at this scale because....again...shock....you don't get many 747s impacting massive towers built without concrete.

All the reports of explosions in the building were the obvious result of what comes after a 747 impacts a building like that.....lifts falling all the way to fire systems and other pressure systems exploding inside the building. Of course that would happen. The actual guy who led the team that built the buildings said what happened made sense.

That isn't a controlled demolition, videos of which you can go and watch and have the explosions all at once to bring the structure down in a 'controlled' fashion.

Well, the title was 'Does anyone know where this reporter is today?'
It's a bit of a stretch to say that suggests he'd been murdered.
I mean, if I said "Does anyone know where my old classmate is today?" I don't think anyone would interpret that as a suggestion of homicide, more just idle curiosity on my part.

But the fact is that so many people who ask difficult questions about 9/11 and other contentious subjects do actually disappear. So foul play has actually become an unspoken default assumption, even amongst people who like to pretend everything is fine and normal.
It leads us to overlook that the reporter was thrown out for asking an awkward yet fair question. That alone should shock us. 30 or 40 years ago, a reporter being thrown out would have shocked us on its own, but not now. Now we have become desensitised and too accepting of our new normal.

This is the point that my earlier post was getting at, by the way. Not sure what the 'For feck's sake' reply is all about. You seem uncharacteristically touchy on this topic for some reason.
 
One issue I have with 9/11. They hunted Bin Laden for ages and then they filmed the President looking on as he was killed by soldiers along with the killing itself. They then dumped his body at sea.

Does anyone find that a bit suspicious? No DNA evidence. No independent identification outside of the military or intelligence services. A big media show.
