The prize money is a few million, nothing to write home about in the grand scheme of things. We have a 100 million quid stand to build and PSR rules to comply with.Surely we must have received money from winning the FA Cup and Charity Shield. This should enable us to buy a couple of players we need. Or has it all gone on paying lawyers for the appeal?
You’ll obviously be surprised then how little a team gets for winning the fa cup and the fact that the community shield used to be called the charity shield says it allSurely we must have received money from winning the FA Cup and Charity Shield. This should enable us to buy a couple of players we need. Or has it all gone on paying lawyers for the appeal?

is that you
I wish - apart from the noseis that you
I've highlighted that because in truth none of us understand the financial workings of the club.I really don’t understand how these extremely successful businessmen who own our club and clearly have mind blowing sums of money have not stepped in with funds. We are not anywhere near any sort of over spend limits that I’m aware of.
Why would you invest all that money so far, watch something special happen with the FA cup and an upward curve overall on the team and in there eyes the project and not back it further to make it stable at the next level in its progression.
They have the funds to make us a consistent European qualifying team and one that can compete with the best in all cup competitions with a view to actually winning them.
I’m not saying we should go on a crazy spending spree like Forest but they have gone all in to try and make themselves where I’ve suggested we should be.
We have a much better manager and the owners should be offering him the keys to the kingdom in terms of wages and package too good to turn down in a place he is happy to be. Also the signings should have been funded as soon as the window opened. Look at all the players we have been linked with all of which went to other clubs for money we should easily be able to match. Nothing we can do about MG if he wants to go but Eze should have been sorted so he didn’t want to go and he should have seen improvements coming in early showing that it was worth staying as we are going places. He should not be considering Spurs a step up. Arsenal yeah, but spurs? Do me a favour, they have been an utter shambles.
Our owners, you don’t make that sort of money being an idiot so I would genuinely love to know why they have not put in what was needed up to the safe amount so as not to fall foul of ffp etc. the mind boggles.

The majority of the high net worth individuals that I dealt with in my career may have taken risks to accumulate their wealth, but once they have it they become more cautious. Our three American shareholders have investments in other sports enterprises. And American sports in particular, the amount of money turned over is vast.
Somebody on another thread posted our figures for the last two seasons. Those figures ( and I have no idea how accurate they are ) show that we are losing millions of pounds but given how PSR is calculated, we are considered to be well managed financially and have ' headroom ' to extend our debt by a further £90m before we would encounter any PSR issues.
I think you need to look at how we got to that point. It was through careful financial management as validated by those numbers. Some on here, very good at spending other people's money, are advocating the club uses that headroom. Never mind that the shareholders are already funding existing debt - which is not cheap. Never mind that there are plans to build a new stand ( yeah I know ).
Agreed, it would be nice to be seeing signings and you look at Forest and wonder how they do it. As Glasner said, don't believe all that you read in the papers. Although it's difficult, I ignore most of the clickbait links to players because they are just that - clickbait.
As for Eze, he needs to be sold this summer to appreciate something like his true value. This time next year he becomes another Marc Guehi - one season left on his deal - and then goes for either a reduced fee or walks for free at the end. I'm sure plenty of people would moan about that given the criticism of Guehi on here. You say Eze doesn't want to go - I'm not sure how you reach that conclusion because he hasn't indicated that nor have I seen that reported anywhere. Spurs will be a good fit under Frank and he will have Champions League football.
Great reply… but I never said he didn’t want to go. Just clarifying. Thanks for the detailed reply though. 👍🏻I've highlighted that because in truth none of us understand the financial workings of the club.

I know the Cup win doesn't pay that great as far as prize money goes but what value can we put on being the Cup Winners ?I think we made c£3m for winning the FA Cup - similar to every finishing place in the Premier League. So purely on finances finishing 10th instead of 12th would have made Palace more money.
Plus tv money and receipts from match days less match day costs and player bonuses for winning the cupWe made £3.910m from winning the FA Cup that was made up from prize money for winning each round.
