What's the point of Wharton?

Both Thursday and today, Adam seems to offer very little. Always in space and can be relied on for the odd touch (but rarely more than one) and he does nothing to break up the opposition. Not interested in tackling and seems far less committed to work than our other 10 on the pitch who put in a shift.

He wasn’t at his best today or on Thursday… but there is no doubt he is exceptional.

I think there will be an adjustment for him not having the option of passing to Eze and he needs to add scoring to his game but, increasingly, he pulls the strings of this side.

Adam Wharton enables everyone else in the team to play better.

Other clubs missed him because he doesn't have the physical attributes data driven football analysis demands.

You dont need speed and physicality if you can control the game.

talent on a par with Olise. Absolute pleasure to watch him play.
