What’s the point of Palace

Can you get the good toilet roll on the way home? I hate that cheap stuff.
Good enough for you, ya feckless layabout. Stay off the cheap booze and you wouldn't be going through reams of it anyway. And another thing...no, save it. Don't worry you'll hear about it soon enough.

In 8 years you've made 1600+ posts on this site and probably spent the equivalent of 2/3 years reading other posts. Add to that time spent reading elsewhere about Palace, going to matches, watching matches, reading post match reviews, taking about matches/players/managers/relegation possibilities, and that's another huge chunk of your life gone.

If it weren't for Palace, you'd probably have had to have spent most of that time talking to your wife, doing stuff around the house or going shopping with her.

And you dare to ask what the point is? 😮
Becky… is that how many posts I’ve made 😳😳😳

Can somebody tell me how I can a transfer to another club please. I fear we as fans have witnessed the greatest day we will ever have and my head can’t take any more bashing against the wall at our transfer strategy or rather lack of it.

I fancy a bit of champions league and a title push. Was thinking of following Ebbs to the emirates or possibly the blue half of Manchester…

…If only it was as easy for fans as it is for players and managers. This window is doing my head in. Just get some f***ing players in so our world class manager doesn’t just walk and our amazing starting 11 don’t drop down dead from exhaustion. I’ve tried to be cool about it but it’s now becoming self harm. FFS please sort it out.
Know and empathise with how you feel..!!

You just feel like - we’ve won the FA Cup - then beat the run away winners of the Premier League - the best domestic league in the world - in the Charity Shield..!! Then in Europe for the first time..!!

All that elation, that feeling of total ecstasy - all just extinguished by an abysmal transfer window..!!

Just so soul destroying..!!

We are so close to be being a real force not only in the Prem but in Europe..!!

Please Steve - let’s get some decent business done..!!

I know I know… we are Palace and we will always have May 17th. But just once it would be nice if it could be a bit of an easier ride.

Regarding the post about when we nearly went bust. That was the strangest time. Wondering who I would start to follow. It’s not like we picked Palace, it just was… that’s it. One day I supported Palace because they were my local team and the kit was really cool (1979 admiral Sash… magic and the 1980 Addidas was even better).

All the kids at Stuart Fleming school either supported Palace or Liverpool. They were massive then but I never saw the point supporting a team so far away .

Anyway… I shall look forward to Sterlings arrival along with a limping old defender from one of the red bull teams and a kid who can’t speak English that is injured for his entire contract. We are Palace and this is our way!

Yep.
Ask Celtic fans how they're feeling tonight. 55 league titles and bundled out of the European cup by a team 3rd in Kazakhstan.

There isn't much point if you're talking what directly benefits you.

It costs you money and disappointment is a part of football. It's not there to cheer you up persay.

Unless you follow a club that challenges for honours on the regular, you won't get the reflected glory of winning silver-wear. This is the reality of most people who aren't glory hunting, you take your successes where you can.

You follow your chosen team because of the love of the game and maybe your connection to the area or family connection....whatever it is.

I think some can take it too seriously and the game can effect their mental health, and in those situations I think it makes sense to step back and do other things that can give you more benefits like learning an instrument or language, exercise, playing games or going out with your mates or something social.

I've noticed that if you have an addictive personality then football can become too much of your life and in those cases you often need good people around you to ease you away from football a bit....at the end of the day it's only one hobby.....it's just a hobby designed to pay other people wages.

If it isn't more fun than detriment then ease into other things.

Yes it was a strange feeling on May 17th🤣

Palace and easier ride? That's an oxymoron if ever I've heard one!

I think we should be done with Palace. We can sell up now to Sainsbury's to knock down the whole stadium and build a giant hyper store with masses of parking for the people of Tornton Heath and Norwood.
Or my favoured option is a re-run of history, with our fortress of a stadium being burnt to the ground, never to be revived. Huge insurance payout, pending arson investigation. 😀

I have been a palace supporter for 70 years and in that time there have been the usual ups and downs that all clubs and their supporters experience. But I think the club is in danger of getting itself into a mess. IMHO we have had the amazing fortune to get the best manager we have ever had. He has level of vision, ambition and talent that I have not seen in all those years. But the down side is that we have a chairman who seems to be taking this all for granted and who, if he is not careful, will drive a frustrated OG away. Yes, SP was a former player and knew the game but that then. It does not mean he is qualified to to make managerial judgements. Look at the number of former players from all divisions who have found themselves out of their depth and learnt some costly lessons.
So my plea to SP is, stick being a chairman, get your wallet out and let OG do his job. You will be making the lives of the supporters a bit more bearable.

Joking aside,
We are a f***ing joke with a tent peg as a chairman.
We cant compete with anyone in the premier league as seem the poor relations to everyone.
A really superb manger is going to walk & i dont blame him one bit as the club has yet again bottled it
