Wharton profile

Interesting piece in the ST today. I like his attitude. He says he doesn't care that his passing completion stats aren't that great, he knows he could improve that with safer sideways and back passing, he's always looking to get the ball forward. Very bright lad too. He's a bit special.

Really is.

I always was sure that Olise would go to the very top, and I'm even more sure about Wharton.

Very lucky to have him.

Very laid back guy and brainy with it - 10 GCSEs and A grades in Maths and Computer Science.
In the Euros he spent time playing chess against the FA Chief Executive, Mark Bullingham.

Not your typical 21year old pro footballer!

He admires Sandro Tonali and Ryan Gravenberch and loves Glasner's tactical acumen. He chose Palace amongst other factors because of their ability to develop talent from the Championship and the fact that Dougie Freedman had been watching him since his Blackburn debut.

He can't wait to see how Palace fans outdo the noise they made in the semi-final 'You couldn't hear yourself on the pitch'

Let's hope he is fit and raring to go next Saturday ........
