We're all going on a European Tour

Still not quite over Saturday - have spent the last few days just pinching myself at every opportunity as well as soaking up every single bit of social media coverage. But, the one thing that gets me most excited is the idea of planning some big European trips with Palace. I've done a fair few away trips following England, including the most recent Euros, but the idea of doing it with my club is making me giddy to say the least.

I've taken the liberty of making a spreadsheet (which is 90% of my life anyways) detailing some basics behind some of our potential away opponents for next year. Here's the link: CLICK HERE

I've tried to find the official stadium capacity (Wikipedia), the away capacity (hard to find for some so have estimated), as well as the flight times and easiest journey - as well as an alternative journey in case of price hikes etc.

I still need to add all the teams that could potentially drop down from Champions League qualifying - and obviously there are still various spots still be allocated for league placings or cup wins from around Europe.

Hopefully people find this helpful for when the time comes (August 29th btw) when the draw is made. Let me know if there's anything else you may find helpful and I can look to try and add on (except flight prices, just doesn't feel necessary this far out and with the possibility of price hikes).

Cheers,
B

Now that is impressive and helpful.
Thanks a lot I will keep it safe.

In case of Wolfsberg (Austria) they play their European games not in the Lavantal Stadium but in the Wörthersee Arena, a 30K seater in Klagenfurt, which is a 4 hour train journey from Vienna. Same might apply if SK Sturm Graz should turn up in the Europa League group phase.

Certainly looks like its going to be a scramble for the few tickets we will get for the away games especially in the early round/league when the smaller clubs are in play . As we progress to the knockouts the chances will be that the bigger clubs will be left and maybe a better chance of tickets .

Im sure the club will devise a fan friendly phasing system when the time comes 🤔

Thanks for putting that list together, I was wondering what kind of teams we might be looking at playing.

I'd love to go and see us play SC Braga - their stadium's quite unique, it's built into the side of a quarry (see below); the city itself is lovely too.

I have friends in the Rotterdam office at work that are big Feyenoord fans. They have been sending me a lot of internal congratulations at the weekend and this week, it’s been great and they are generally happy for us to make it into Europe. One of them even highlighting they may be in the same competition as us. Can you imagine Feyenoord v Palace or vice versa. Dreamland!
This FA cup victory has put us on the map, let’s just do our best to keep the identity as I suspect a lot of tourists will be coming to selhurst…..although one look at the stadium and they might be put off !!!! 🙂

Appreciate the responses all.

Will crack on and change some of the away capacity’s to match the minimum 5% UEFA allocation. Will also do some more digging on possible stadium changes for some teams.

Some interesting teams who could possibly drop from UCL playoffs so will be adding them in too…

Mate well done for creating this, great work indeed.
I am hopeful that a) I can get an away ticket and b) that we get somewhere I haven't been too before which in Europe is only a few countries.
I have an excuse with the Europa to go away without the Mrs + kids and tick off a country so I am hoping for a Moldova, Slovakia or Slovenia 🙂

They don't.

All teams eliminated from the UCL Champions Path enter either the Europa League or the Conference League:

Gotcha, my apologies, i (wrongly) assumed you were talking about when it starts 'proper'. So, by that table, there would be 5 teams to add in the 'league phase'?

No worries mate - going off of Wikipedia it looks like 11 teams join the league phase from the UCL qualifying…could be some BIG teams in there.

Great piece of work. With those tiny away allocations (estimated) my lowly Gold Membership with minimum points will get me nowhere!

Hopefully CPFC will work with the away match clubs and respective cities and build a decent Palace Fan Zone for each match where we can all go and celebrate on our European tour?
