Very simply because he doesn’t fit Frank’s system. It was known that Frank doesn’t fancy him and can’t use him to his best, so any buying party was at an advantage. Spurs had to get rid of an asset that became surplus for external reasons, and we took advantage.
A lot of Spurs fans are complaining that they’ve let him go at all, and for what they consider a cut price.
He was one of their best players last season. They haven’t made that many changes of personelle for that to be any different, it’s mainly the style of play that has changed.
Great business on our part. Necessary business on their’s, purely in the circumstances.

He was part of the deal, yes but I don't remember the figures involved. Worked out well for us though!

I am a big fan of what Clinton did for Palace... but that AJ / CM part exchange has to be one of, if not the, best deals the club ever did.

I think they were spot on for us! We got CM back in a couple of seasons for about half what they paid for him. So we ended up with CM, AJ and £2.25m or so across both deals. Can't argue with that (unless agents leeched most of it in fees).

I remember seeing the pair of them playing in the same team, with DF also maybe in the squad. Plus a nice profit across the two deals. If only that happened more often. Maybe it might with Eze or dare I say Olise.

To be fair I remember Stelling used to mention us quite a bit, long before Clinton was on. I always thought we got more than our share of mentions based on stature at the time.
And Wrighty’s been on the box for donkey’s years, we’ve had a fair mention off of him from time to time, when he’s not waxing lyrical about the Goonies.
Probably the same reason the c**** sold Harry Kane and weighed out big time on Dom Solanki
His premier record is 26 goals 19 assist in 120 games from what i found not to bad , Eze record is 120 34 24 and is 3 years older
