Wastes of money.........that are best avoided

I’ve always said, Costa and Starbucks are an overpriced cup of tasteless froth
Costa is better than Starbucks and Prets used to be not bad value. Not any more, and St Pancras the prices are a feckin joke. But I know what you mean, all that skinny and flat latte cr@p. I prefer a family owned Italian coffee shop made with their Lavazza.

Wetherspoons sell Lavazza for about £1.60 and you get free refills. Never tried it but my AA approved friend reckons it's alright.

It’s obviously good value for that deal but it’s nothing like a Lavazza coffee in a family owned Italian sandwich and coffee shop. I would choose one of those for a sandwich and coffee over anything else.

Agreed. When I go for a day out in London with a friend Pret was always our go to for lunch. A filter coffee and a sandwich, not any more ridiculously expensive no wonder the chain is floundering.

I used to see it as cheaper food of equally quality (better coffee imo) because you either had to stand and eat or sit on basic seating as opposed to a sofa you could fall asleep in. Not anymore, and they don’t do the Thai chicken sandwich anymore, or the ham and cheese baguette, or was that in EAT? Not sure.

Maybe not the greatest but Benji's were very cheap.

All these flash so called mold removers that they charge silly money for, all you need is a 50p bottle of bleach

Actually bleach can damage you are better off using Bicarbonate of soda which is kinder and like bleach cheap.

I use bi carb in the kitchen, mainly to get rid of tea stains in my vast collection of palace mugs 😀 but bleach does any mold build up round the bath and shower fine

On 'Better Call Saul' Mike Erhmentrout used to sit in a portakabin parking office. Compare and contrast with this.........Another Waste of Money that was really best avoided.

Agree. Expensive watches hold their money and have gone up
Massively, due to the watch makers not keeping up with demand.
Bought one for my 30th (17 years ago), worn it loads and would get more than double what I paid for it if I sold it now.

Bought another for my 40th, same story.

they do tend to keep their value though POG.
wife bought me a TAG for my 40th, 25 years later its still like new (only wear it weekends due to my mucky job though)
Certainly agree with the battery & date etc point.

Plastic garden furniture cleaners are hilarious too. Rub bleach all over them and return in half a day to find them looking brand new.
We have a lot of white plastic chairs that have been weather damaged. So should I use bleach on them?

i can pick on the worst one and see if it helps before trying the rest.

They come up like brand new. I’ve always done them in sunshine but it’ll work whatever the weather. Best to do them on concrete or asphalt and not grass.

Pret have become ridiculously expensive. A while back a Pret Latté was £1.95 when Starbucks & Costa’s were at £3. Now they are similar at about £4 a pop.
For the last 10 years at work I’ve bought the exact same Pret Breakfast and it’s gone up from £8 to £12 in that time… a 50% increase!

Their subscription was a good deal but now they’ve changed it it’s probably not worth having.
