When I hear this I just wish Hitler would've held onto Sudetenland and whatever else they said was traditionally theirs. No doubt you are happy to take EU coin, prosperity and freedom whilst denying other countries.
Sponging bastards.

Because while so many still think we live in free societies the reality is that our media is nearly as controlled by our government/security and intelligence services as any of the nations we regard as enemies. Some things they allow the media free reign on, others much less.why are all my media telling me : Ukraine War good, Iran War bad ?

They use the media and selected outlets to pump out propaganda.

I would say it's now worse here.

Eventual accession by Ukraine cannot be viewed solely in economic terms. For sure there will be costs to rebuild infrastructure and manufacturing capacity but there will also be significant benefits in food, fertiliser and energy security, along with access to important mineral resources. If nothing else has been made obvious in recent times security of supply is an important resource.Financial Times: The European Commission believes Ukraine will need at least another 10-15 years to meet the requirements for EU accession.
Meanwhile, there is still no consensus within the bloc on the timing and conditions of Ukraine's potential accession.
Meanwhile in Ukraine, the media and government have completely sold the EU to its people as a solution to their poverty and polling shows that more than 60% of Ukrainians believe the country will prosper as part of the European Union in 10 years.
Even if that happened where's that money coming from?
The people who led us down this path suffer no consequences but a lot of people are far more poorer because of it. This was additional cost that could have been avoided.
We have poor elites and they rely upon an easily distracted and ignorant population to get away with their failures.....All while they make bank on money they don't really deserve because of the decline they produce.

Graham Lenihan had a valid opinion on all the Trans madness. And he was escorted off an airplane by 4 armed coppers. This was a non UK citizen being bullied for something he wrote in another country. So where, even, was the jurisdiction ?They have been allowing Islamic hate preachers to come here and give addresses in Mosques for as long as they were wanted.....Very few are banned.
Yes, in some ways we are worse than the countries we demonise.
It's completely politically biased.
The state lie about where real threats come from, they refuse entry to right wing personalities and influences, yet they have allowed countless thousands of people entry into the country from dangerous third world countries, housed them, fed them, give them free medical treatment and don't punish them for this breaking of our laws.....then they get the chance of a review to live here with their representation all paid for.
For years and years.

On balance Ukraine joining the EU would be a benefit to both parties. Us to if we summon up the nous to get reassociated!

Putting politics aside, what has become clear over the last few years is that we are infested with the absolute worst order-obeying, brainwashed weasels.
Many of them no doubt, read history of the 1930s and tell themselves 'There is no way I would have been like that, there is no way I would have betrayed my Jewish neighbour and burnt books'. But they would have been exactly like that! They are like that now ffs.
Witness the total demonisation of those who opposed lockdowns and vaccines, many of whom were snitched on, spied on, had the reputations trashed and/or lost their jobs.
Similar trends have been seen with climate change, gender ideology, pro-Palestine, anti-immigration.
Back on-topic, even daring to point out the inconvenient facts that Ukraine is a an international hub of Neo-Nazis, Child-Trafficking and Biolabs is another 1984ist banned topic.
I don't believe all those thought-speech banned topics sit neatly on a political axis, nor is the right/left aspect the defining factor (many are simply opposing the influence of multinational corporations and their agendas).
However, I agree that the traditional conservatives have definitely been massively targeted for what amounts to little more than opposing government policy and law-breaking.
Anyone, on the traditional left or the right, should be massively concerned by free-speech impositions. Unfortunately, many are simply too thick, or too self-interested, to comprehend the implications.
You supported the war continuing in 2022 when a deal was on the table.
Now Ukraine is an economic chain around Europe's neck and it's fools like you who are responsible.
England
Just picking up on one aspect, which although I agree with you, I think you have been too generous in the extent to which you downplayed it.
A deal was on the table. It was supported by the majority (estimated 61-69%) of Ukrainians and the majority of Russians.
But 'Defender of Democracy' Zelenskyy cancelled the elections so no one got a say.
Then the peace deal broke down due to the direct intervention of Boris Johnson who insisted on the war continuing, before returning to a champagne reception in Westminster.
Since then hundreds of thousands have needlessly died. I am sure they are all very grateful for our 'support' while they continue to get blown to pieces in freezing trenches.
