What we needed decades ago was a program of building nuclear power stations, but successive governments failed to do it.
There have been numerous examples of cheap energy inventions being created only for the inventors to die mysteriously or have their patents seized. The world could be better right now but our overlords have different ideas.
While oil and gas are still king, we must ensure that supplies are not restricted by rogue states who just happen by chance to have favourable geology and geography. This was always coming like a Biblical prophecy.

Well that was Churchill's and Patton's attitude and others......but the west and allies were exhausted with war and once the war in Europe and Pacific were finished no one was up for a war with 'Uncle Joe'.

Churchill's writings show that he felt guilty about losing the empire and how the war finished...for example half of Europe under the communists, including Poland.....but he justified it as the lesser evil....weak sauce in my view.

Now his country and people (because he like all Victorians understood that we were a people), and the wider European group itself are under threat of losing control of their own countries.....and indeed, will become a minority within them unless someone like Lowe takes over......Farage will only fiddle around the edges.

Yeah....When you notice and see it and wake up from the narratives sold to you.....You can't ever unsee it again.

We have regime change in Iran, from father to son, and we were told last year the nuclear risk had been obliterated, so that’s ticked off.
Basically he seems to have lost the support of the real power brokers in the USA who want the oil back online.
So what has been achieved?
I assume Israel will carry on with their war against Hezbolah and all this bullshit about tbe poor Iranians etc etc is exactly that.
I hope people think it was worth it.

Who on earth do you think can just give things away? The government has no money, it just manages ours. There have been plenty of financial incentives to encourage the transition to renewables. Is it urgent? That depends on how you define urgency. It isn’t in the short term, but as the impact is already evident it is in the mid to long term.
