Villa v Maccabi

Of course you have such a right.

The police though also have the duty to ensure the peace is kept. So temporary interruptions of rights can become necessary in order for the police to fulfill their duties.

It’s nothing unusual or controversial. It just is.
Good idea. I look forward to counter protests being banned to ensure that the peace is kept…

Do you think the banning of protests is something we need more of?
Yes, I think banning protests by anti British and antisemite organisations is a great idea.

I didn’t specify a protest - I’m trying to work out views on it principally.

And it seems principally, responders so far are happy for the state to quell protests that they disagree with.

Principled.

Total bollocks.

Being anti British is treason. Being anti Semitic is illegal.

Are you anti British and anti Semitic by any chance?

No.

I do believe in principle though, and I think the right to protest peacefully is an important one.

You seem quite happy to lose it because you don’t like people with different opinions.

Principled.

I suppose you have that thing where you ban a protest and it still happens, it's not a good idea to steam into everyone or trying to arrest everyone. I remember a Walsall away game where they tried to arrest the whole away end for singing a derogatory song about the referee and masturbation. Those were the days. They stopped the game, arrayed in full riot gear on the other side of the pitch and then charged us. There were a few minutes of full on fighting until they dispersed again, seemingly being ordered off by someone. In short it doesn't usually help to attack a crowd. They will respond. Just the way psychology is.
The match was probably 88 or so. We had Ian Wright.

Doesn't everyone think that!

The two go hand in hand. Israel and Britain are beacons of the West – which is why the left hate both. You never see any union flags with the pro-Pally mob.
Weirdly you do see the Scots flag if in Scotland, but somehow that isn't labelled racist

I do find that somehow English nationalism is not allowed. I guess, if it is allowed, inevitably that ends the Union. I can only imagine the result had English people been given the vote in Scottish independence. No way would they allow that.
