VAR

Anyone know why at 2-2 in the Community Shield var was not used for what looked like deliberate hand ball by Lpool? (Penalty)
Likewise Ezes penalty looked like it should have been retaken for goalkeeper infringement but again no var!
Big team bias at work perhaps?

Why didn't Henderson get sent off in the fa cup final? 😅

I'm really confused with VAR. Some days I'm pleased it has come up with the correct decision after the ref or assistant has missed something, then it ignores was appears blatantly obvious. I've been itching to post about Henderson v Man City for a while - no doubt for me, he should have been sent off. A huge slice of luck for Palace - that said, otherwise Palace played well enough to deserve the win. The powers that be have removed 'intent' from the judgement of what warrants hand ball. Thus, I'm not certain if the Liverpool player intended to touch the ball, but he did and with today's interpretation, Palace should surely have had a penalty.

The 'pen' incident was looked at by var. It wasn't given because 1) the player wasn't looking at the ball, 2) as he was in the process of jumping, he was using his arms as leverage.
VAR is not used in penalty shootouts, that's the job of the Assistant & Match Official.
