VAR

The only way to stop grabbing/pulling of shirts:
But what happens when Arsenal players smash them into someone's face at every corner?

Clearly I am viewed as the Howard Webb or Dermot Gallagher of HOL.
"Willo Watch" !
Yep they don’t know what they are talking about either 🤣 Chris Foy on TalkSport this morning trying to defend the decision, he claimed VAR is not there to referee the game, WTAF they interfere all the time.
Apologies just seen Teddy’s post, still at least ex-refs are consistent in being idiots
Still VVD got away with similar on Guehi

I'm sure I am not in a minority at the moment when I say I really am not enjoying my football since VAR was introduced and this includes decisions going for and against us, can someone explain to me why before VAR was introduced anyone would have an opinion on any particular incident and argue about it afterwards, and since VAR although technical evidence is given were still arguing about it and really no further forward I.e, still not clear about any given incident

It was supposed to provide definitive infallible conclusions.
It hasn't. And is still a very long way from doing so.

VAR has never officially been considered or marketed as "Infallible".
The governing bodies explicitly stated that VAR was not designed to eliminate each and every error but to minimise major mistakes.
It was never considered to be perfect.
Major mistakes? 😂 Players given offside by VAR intervention because their toe was offside, is not a major mistake by on field Officials. There are plenty of other examples where VAR should not get involved, analysing every goal. If it’s never going to be perfect, just bin it. Having said that it is only as good as those that operate it, no more needs to be said

Such decisions are 'Factual' and only come into play when VAR determines whether a goal should stand or be ruled out.
Suffice to say, VAR is here to stay and in time its scope will be extended even more.

But not a major mistake, as you stated. Intervening in fouls, handballs which again are not necessarily MAJOR mistakes

It can enter that category of course when ruling on penalties, red cards etc etc.
VAR will not intervene if a foul or handball does not have a significant impact.
Statistically VAR has proved a success but of course the fan experience has been criticised.

About the only thing that works is the technology telling us the ball has crossed the goal line or not. Everything else relating to a goal scored makes me hold back from cheering or even being annoyed at my team whilst waiting for VAR to confirm. This can take an eternity as well. It’s ruined the game for me as I now look straight away as to how a goal once scored can be disallowed :-(
