Val Kilmer

He married a british actress, Joanne Whalley. Probably best remembered as the nurse in the Singing Detective who had the task of rubbing cream onto Michael Gambon's Psoriasis, whilst he tried to think of something unsexy.

Very sad to learn this news, but not surprising after a long period of suffering with throat cancer. A fine, under,-rated actor and a highlight for me was his portrayal of Doc Holliday in Tombstone. Fabulous. I shall watch it again tonight.

It was also brave of him to reprise his role as Iceman in Top Gun Maverick when his voice was dubbed in because he could no longer speak at that stage.

RIP cool guy.

I just had a quick look at his bio. There was a 5 year streak in the early nineties when he was hot after that a series of forgettable movies and he swiftly went from leading man to supporting actor in some not very good shows.

Apparently he was a bit difficult to work with so I guess that didn't help and then he got cancer.

Still he was good in some very good movies.

RIP

i heard that too. Was massive for maybe 10 years and then seem to be dropped quite quickly.

You could see how ill he was in his Top Gun, Maverick cameo.

I first saw Kilmer in "Top Secret" on video, back in the 1980's. On his day a very fine actor. Top Secret, well worth a watch. 👍

Epic in Top Gun, Tombstone and as Jim Morrison the Doors.
He was the worst Batman - I wish people would stop bringing it up 🤣

... and he is in one of my top 3 films.. True Romance.

RIP

Smashed it out of the park with many roles. My own favourites were his character in Heat, where it seemed the star-studded cast brought the best out of him, and his portrayal of Jim Morrison.
