The critical fact is not punishment for acts but for the welfare of everyone else. Few can argue the lives of the northern Irish have improved after our faustian pact with the republicans.

I get your viewpoint.

I just think that over a certain line, there can't be forgiveness.

It's why I understand why Hamas and Zionists fight, why the IRA killed us and why we killed them back.....Why nationalists in Ukraine fight and why Russians fight against Nato.

ISIS however made a point of killing any westerners (aside from those who funded them) they managed to get...aid workers and the like.

What has happened in Syria turns my stomach......Assad was bad, however ISIS is worse....paying them doesn't make it better.

By the way I'd take issue with the argument that NI is better for the good friday agreement.....Short term yes, but long term they lose British nationality and that's a fundamental failure of the British state to protect what it is.....because neo/social liberalism does not value the nation state.

Speaking of bombs the bill for their everlasting wars is only increasing, the deficit an amazing circa 32 trillion dollars.

If they were to cut out Israel all the problems could be resolved quite quickly.

Trump ratio-ed on his own platform, Truth Social, over his latest post referring to Epstein....and making implicit criticisms of his base's holding onto the issue.....Obviously referring to Tucker Carlson and others.

Let it be said that the right have principles and lines that they won't cross.....and Epstein fecking kids and trafficked girls represents that.

Let's compare that to how the left and the Democrats treated this issue.

The lack of curiosity was palpable. Sitting on it, covering it up and calling investigation into it 'conspiracy theories', I suspect they might have even destroyed the evidence taken from Epstein. Instead all the while instead of focusing on this they were spending tens of millions on the Russia hoax, that their own intelligence services knew had no reliable evidence and eventually had to apologise for.

The MAGA base must not let the Epstein issue go.....Even if it brings down Trump, what happened here strikes at the heart of what the west should stand for.

If they don't clean the intel and security services up over this and instead let them get away with trafficking girls for blackmailing purposes then we stand for nothing.

Let's not get distracted on our disagreements over Russiagate, though I admit it was myself who brought it up.....However, we agree on the rest of your commentary here.

Though obviously my motivation isn't about attacking Trump....which might be yours. For me it goes beyond having a side or whether I like or dislike someone.

When it comes to what happened in and around Epstein, then the power of the individual or state must not be allowed to survive the principle that we don't accept the trafficking and raping of girls....well anyone for that matter.

That's whether it's grooming gangs or individuals of any ethnicity here or rich and powerful individuals in the US, security state or states.

If no one holds a line, then we are nothing but animals.

I will say wissie you have stated on here many times that evidence is key. If legal teams can prove it not to be sufficient then that comes down to the law, not the individuals or their assumed guilt or innocence.
It doesn’t matter if it’s Biden or trump !

Evidence is the key to a successful prosecution but it isn’t to whether an individual knows something, or not. Ask anyone who has been on the wrong side of a judgement they know to be incorrect. In Trump’s case he was also protected by the ruling that a sitting POTUS cannot be prosecuted. In Biden’s case that was unnecessary as all that existed was speculation, vindictiveness and rhetoric.
