Vance may talk billhooks better than Trump but it’s still billhooks. He is also a seriously nasty man. Trump is just an unwell puppet. Talents in Trump’s cabinet? A talent for being sycophantic is all I see. Rubio has something about him but how long will he last? Bondi? You can’t be serious.

It wasn’t me who made the judgement was it? It was the markets who produced an unsustainable situation. That said we had heard more than enough from her earlier to form an opinion. Which she has done nothing since to dispel. Truss is everything that is wrong with the Tories.

When have I “defended” Starmer? There’s no need to do that but there is a need to counter the large dollops of bs that routinely appear in this echo chamber of self righteousness. Emphasis on the right!

I have always been a One Nation Tory! Supportive of responsible fiscal and social policy.

The main thing that is wrong with them at the moment is not them. It’s the emergence of Farage thinking and the way it has sucked the right wing into his orbit, weakening the party and dividing its support.

There is room for a party on the hard right of British politics. There are enough people who think like that and they need a voice. There’s not room for two and even one will never hold power on its own.

Unless the Tories recognise that their future lies in recapturing the central ground now occupied by Labour and the Liberals they will just split the right sided vote.

To think otherwise is delusional. It’s just wishful thinking powered by prejudice.

I bow to your expertise in these areas - you are about as One Nation Tory as Vanessa Redgrave, albeit the Tories are now what can be considered as left wing. Current Conservative, Labour and Liberal parties are hardly distinguishable, that is largely why the Tories have lost support.

To be honest the western media is hardly any different. BBC a prime example. But that's for a different thread 🤪
