The subject was those who deny science! Science knows what man is contributing. There is a consensus.. Some here, not themselves experts in the field, question that science for no discernible reason other than it doesn't suit them.

Science isn't immutable. It was science which led to a lot of the current environmental problems but that science has now changed. If future discoveries lead to different opinions presumably you'll defend those just as stridently.

It has already been established that no crime was committed the review is to look into why an over the top heavy handed approach was taken. The fact this couple were arrested proves the original point.

Was it "over the top heavy-handed", or were they acting on information that created enough doubt to justify their approach? Until that has been investigated, no one knows. Not the Police Commissioner or a journalist, let alone you or I.

There was a scientific consensus that smoking would not cause health problems. Which is probably quite pertinent in showing how scientists make their findings: through their bank account.

The Trump administration is facing a lot of criticism due to the Texas measles outbreak , two children have died,the situation has been made far worse by vaccine scepticism as promoted by Robert.F. Kennedy. Americans may be apathetic about tariffs,Ukraine etc but Texan children dying may be another matter.

I don’t know but I doubt it. I doubt at the time there was much scientific investigation to determine one way or the other. It’s only quite recently that such things have been put under a spotlight.

That’s untrue.

The tobacco companies spent a lot of money promoting the idea that tobacco was not just safe but beneficial but the medical world knew it was harmful, but weren’t listened to.

There might have been a consensus in the overall population but not in the scientific community.

6 police officers, 3 police cars taken away from house in front of their young child, kept for 11 hours . All for posts on a WhatsApp group with other parents, criticising school recruitment. These messages have been published, nothing threats, nothing rude. The only threats had come from the school when they advised parents not to criticise them. Heavy handed, without doubt.
If you actually read about the case it has already been established thus action should never have taken place. Of course for whatever reason you have to play devils advocate,
