I am not surprised. I expect the same will be found in other places in the USA, whose economy, despite the perceptions, has recovered from the pandemic better than almost any other nation.

Why is that? Trump’s few weeks of executive orders or years of Bideneconomics?

The poster is commenting on those few weeks of Trump. Not on the years of Biden!

Some people in America don't like Donald Trump. What a scoop.
Posts that appear on here are often not in support of Trump, his personality or his actions, but are critical of certain high-handed attitudes on display.
Incessantly claiming both moral and intellectual superiority might not be the best way of making a point.

Almost all the content here ignores those who criticise Trump in the USA, or try to ridicule them. As is being attempted with the comment I posted.

I rarely read anything critical of high handed actions. They are themselves ignored and people like me accused of being deluded, when the reverse seems true.

I don’t claim any moral or intellectual superiority. That you, or anyone else, thinks that might be the case is an indication to me of a lack of conviction in their own position rather than any comment about mine.

I don't have a "position" on Trump. Like most I have a position on condescension.

They should be celebrating it in their own country anyway. I was always disgusted seeing the Irish politicians going to the US every year for it.

Imagine a US president going abroad on the 4th of July.
 
As someone with generally right of centre views, I am appalled by Trump. It is such a shame that the most high profile right wing politician in the world is a man so devoid of integrity and, in my view, wisdom. He is just a thoroughly bad man, as he has demonstrated with his appalling comments implying that Ukraine started the war and that Zelensky is a dictator. For the leader of the free world to trot out the lies of a dictator is deeply scary, and sadly reminds me of his previous attempt to overturn democracy in the world's most important democratic state after losing the election to Biden. He may have some sensible policies, but he is a dismal scab on right wing politics.

Unless you seriously believe that all the pro Zionist American right are secretly plotting against the Jews that mainly fund them.

But the anti communist aspect of fascism....that aspect isn't a joke, but you don't really need a roman salute for that....but because it triggers you lot I've seen quite a lot of it.

It’s probably the most evocative and provocative gesture anyone can make after global events in the last 100 years.

That anyone even feels confident enough to do that, even if you’re looking kindly on it as a ‘joke’, on that kind of platform should be chilling enough for most people.

You mean what John Lennon did? What David Bowie did? What Andy Warhol did? What Mel Brooks did? What Monty Python did? what they did in Carry On Ceo even.

Oh that evocative and provocative gesture.....Yeah really chilling. All these people are well known to have gone onto extremely chilling behaviour where they posed a threat to peoples everywhere.

You could have a laugh with the old left, now you're all squares, which is why they wind you up.....it's not even a proper salute, because they do it to the side....because they don't really believe in it.

The people in the generation after WW2 and even those who fought and died in it weren't anything like as poe-faced as 'you lot'.

Well I agree I'd prefer not to see it....but I know why it happens.

Figures like Bannon, Musk and the others I've seen do it are hate figures of the left. They get death threats and vile stuff thrown at them all the time.

So they do what they know their opposition hate the most. It's cause and effect.

It's not something I'd prefer to see, but I know why it's done....plus it's quite funny within a context....which is that it gets you lot foaming at the mouth.....Hey, perhaps you should be more concerned with the far left and certain cultures you protect who actually do contain a subset who do actually hate Jews.

But don't worry mate, you aren't seeing the rise of Zionist Nazis.......Just writing that phrase makes me laugh, it's akin to saying communist fascists.
