Quite ironic coming from a poster who only ever posts ideological drivel about the Labour government or the poster from Cornwall who he apparently has on ignore yet constantly posts about.

Am not sure what ideology I follow other than a dislike of hypocrisy and incompetence from any shade of politics.

The Reeves and Reynolds CV nonsense is public domain fact, that would appear as drivel to you, i.e facts you don't like are drivel.

I do see other poster's messages who are engaging with the " poster from Cornwall " and encourage them to also push the ignore button

Hypocrisy and incompetence are traits of most politicians but the Left generally don't accept it exists in their sphere.

What I find very galling is the current Govt defending bad behaviour by the defence of the previous lot did the same, is that really their bar of change?

A lot on the left like to pretend to themselves that they are morally better than their opponents.

You do get good people on the left, just like there can be good people who believe all kinds of stuff, but for the most part the left.....well it's 'positive law' beliefs, instead of 'natural law', so at the fundamental level it's just mistaken.

A lot of it comes down to how interested someone is in the truth, ugly or not, over fitting in with virtue signallers and 'pass the sugar' types.
 
I don’t use FB much these days, especially after Zuckerberg decided to abandon fact checking in order to protect himself from the nutcase in the White House. I did though read this post this evening, which reassured me that there are some from the USA who are seeing things as they are and not as Trump tells them they are. This from a poster called Michael Whitworth:-

“I am a US citizen living in Florida, and would offer the opinion that the US is no longer a viable partner economically, politically, militarily, or philosophically. It goes far beyond the madmen that were elected or not elected but are running our country into the ground- it is a reflection on the population as a whole that astonishingly elected Trump twice. Once was enough and could have been considered an error in judgment by the citizens of the US, but twice means the citizens are willing to suspend reality, accept the daily major lies emanating from this government, and turned the country over to a fascist who sees himself as a dictator.
Because of this, the US as a whole is no longer a trustworthy country and cannot be counted on to help with the defense of Europe, as Trump is even now appeasing Putin, offering him Ukraine. Trump will stab other EU and NATO members in the back, and will not offer any aid when Russia invades Poland, Latvia, Lithuania, and Estonia in the near future. Europe must rapidly build their own defense system.
European nations should strongly consider moving the UN to Europe, and reorganizing the institution, eliminating the US from membership.
Trump poses a clear and present danger to not only the US, but to the world. He is not trustworthy, and because the US population elected him twice, they are not trustworthy.”

What is the point of this screed? Some random bloke on Facebook said something. So what?
 
After the 2016 election Trump was investigated by Robert Mueller, the ex Director of the CIA, acting as a special counsel. The subject being Trump’s involvement with the Russian interference in the election. Despite claims made by Trump his report did not exonerate him. Mueller was stymied from proceeding by AJ Barr’s ruling that a sitting President could not be prosecuted. The investigation corroborated many findings of previous investigations by various branches of the security forces and those released in the Steele report. Some of which suggested that Putin holds compromising material on Trump that he threatens to release if Trump doesn’t cooperate with him.

The events of recent days do nothing to dispel any thoughts that such suggestions might well be true.

I wonder if some of the western agencies, known as the 5 eyes, might be preparing to release more data?

I have just returned from Florida, it seems to be booming. Mega building going on everywhere, plenty of employment, roads very busy. Fuel much lower price than here. Maybe Michael Whitwirth is Floridas answer to Wisbech? So you believe 1 person in FB but when others quote media outlets that you perceive as right wing, they are being taken in and not seeing the full picture. Not sure you really thought about this reply tbh

Rubbish! Both are valid.

That’s the point. That there are some in the USA who see things the same as the majority in the UK and the rest of Europe do and who can express themselves clearly, logically and without any hint of political bias.

Which is not the picture that’s generally painted on these pages.

This never went away. It’s just been out of sight. We’ll see how it all plays out but I cannot see the security forces of the western alliance taking this betrayal by Trump of everything they work for lightly. I would expect there to be a lot of activity at present to try to mitigate the damage.

That those on the right see statements they disagree with as bias is hardly surprising. Others see them as common sense.

That they take offence when faced with contrary views is also par for the course. No offence is intended, or present.

The fact is that there are different opinions but that trying to defend what Trump and his backers are currently doing is near to impossible. Whatever your politics that ought, in my opinion, be obvious.
