The difference between empire and hegemony has to do with actual control. The British Empire had actual control over a significant portion of the world and for a while, hegemony over basically anything that could be reach by the ocean that was not theirs.

The Democrats don't seem to have anyone talented you'd think could win personality wise....then again when it comes to the candidate stage you never know who could emerge.

Then again the Republicans may feck up the economy so badly that they would lose against a can of meatballs.

If you believe the opinion polls on Trump it should be there for the taking for anyone remotely competent at the next election. How a country that big and polarised can’t even find one person with the right competencies who represents almost half of them that is electable is nuts.

You still don't get it, even the UK is still an empire. So is France and many other nations.

The US currently generates around 26% of global economic output. At its current pace, the US will double China's fake numbers in about a decade. He does a lot of things wrong, but the American economy tends to do well under him.

Democrats let the Socialists into their party and now they are stuck with them. And since most Americans don't vote in primaries, socialists do better in the primary and then get crushed in states where their is an even split between the parties.

Look I would like that all to be true....but when I look at an economy I look at the living standard of the common voter in the street.....Not manipulated figures in the markets.

The cost of living worsened under the Democrats and Trump hasn't changed that.

I had great hope for his second term and it's been an awful disappointment.

Beshear and Ossoff can both beat Vance because they'll pull in independents as they are both solid at public speaking. They are slick enough to stick Vance to Trump and get enough to push them over the line. If they are running against Rubio, they both lose. The rest of the Demcrowd is either retarded socialists or have so much baggage that they will melt under the spot lot.

It really comes down to the primary, which is why the DNC is moving around who starts off as the first states in order to remove some of the potential advantage for socialist leaning candidates from being able to get off to a good start.

I agree that inflation has been out of control for years and while Trump was starting to make progress on it the Iran adventure has basically pushed it back to start.

I agree with you, I think other then hiring two adults (Rubio and Bessent), he hired a bunch of special needs yes men who are telling him what he wants to hear instead of what he needs to hear.

I also agree that the mainstream Dem's don't want them in the party but their deal with the devil to get more voters under Obama turned them into a big tent party in which they invited the wrong guests for the long term.

The craziest part of the Israel First crowd of Republicans is that most Jews actually vote Democrat. Southern Baptists care more about Israel because of the campaign funding then Jewish politicians like Bernie Sanders do. Makes no sense.

The British empire ended shortly after WW2 and the Americans took over.....Now there's a lot that can be said about that and I certainly have commented upon the wisdom of the world wars for Great Britain....but that's what people understand by empire.
