Of course they do!This is the crux of the issue. You've hit it unintentionally. Right wing people don't like things like gay, trans etc but they will tolerate it. In general, they will accept those people's right of choice - without liking it.
Making a comment, however, is not intolerance. That would be a criticism or an opinion.
Throwing people off buildings is intolerance. Not even recognising the rights of people to exist is intolerance. And I would admit there is a loony fringe right that might be like that.
Complaining or criticism is not intolerance. It's exactly what is going wrong currently.
And then we come to left wing. Do they tolerate people having different views? They have appointed themselves arbiters of the truth. And it's not working except on the more gullible. The state is accepting that narrative but it does not anywhere near represent the views of the people. All it does represent right on student politics. The type Khan and Starmer have never grown out of. Hilariously, they're not even the worst in the current government. There are real activists with agendas - and likely funding.
This government is completely destroying the contract between people and state. Expect more and escalating demonstrations with Starmer desperately clinging on. Likely to be purged by his own party or unions soon enough. Depending on the deals at the trough to some extent
What no half decent person finds hard to tolerate, whatever their personal political beliefs might be, is the kind of intolerance that is to be found in this thread. Not from all on the right, but from enough to be very distasteful.
Just as it would be if you went on a left wing dominated forum and read the same kind of abuse directed at, let’s say, “the racist scumbags on the right” rather than the “looney lefties”.
The big difference is that only the little idiots on the left use the first type of phrase, but the President of the USA uses the second.
