It seems that Reeves is now going to break the manifesto.

If that happens, is it possible / feasible there will be a significant enough back bench rebellion to vote down the budget?

I don't have any idea on the numbers that would be required for this to happen.

My gut feeling is that push comes to shove, the potential rebels will not risk a possible situation where parliament is dissolved and a general election is called.

They will want to keep their salaries as long as possible.

I've always said that Labour will try to do the maximum term they can. It's going to take something extraordinary for any of them to risk an election. Currently, Reform would sweep the board. Surely even this Labour party isn't that stupid? Is it?
I've never seen a party less adept at politics and political image than this one, despite the quite ludicrous money they spend on PR.
It really does take something to make Farage look like a great potential leader and Corbyn to be favourable to Starmer. How they managed it will go down in history.
Expect something bad in the budget and you're likely to be correct. The spin they put on it will be entirely unconvincing to anyone. Including their most ardent supporters.

The core financial numbers are simply getting worse, unemployment and benefits bill both in wrong direction

Oh look, the reason the economy is doing badly is the Russians. Damn those red, commie, fascist scum.

Completely believable - not propaganda. If only it weren't for Russian cyber attacks, Reeves would be entirely competent and the economy growing. I would have looked at BBC but no one does now.

Looks like police commissioners are going to be abolished - good job too.
