UEFA have tightened up the rulings on English teams competing in competitions which hinders how much is spent on players and wages.

Anything to try and stop English teams and their dominance of European football. This came up on Sky sports yesterday and stated we are grappling with trying to deal with it!

We could copy the big clubs and just get a pathetic fine but knowing uefa they will just kick us out the competition.

I dont think it just affects English teams though, every club cant spend more than 70% of their income on wages.

It is not merely player wages that enter the equation. Included are the wages of managers/
head coaches, player amortisation and impairment, and agents’ fees.
It excludes non-playing staff, such as administrative or commercial personnel, assistant coaches and other members of the coaching staff, academy players, and women’s teams.

Its still the same for all clubs

Nketiah will be alright then !

We can moan all we want but lets face it, the finacial disparity between English clubs and the rest of europe is the reason we won the conference league and Villa won the Europa last season.

I hate utd and liverpool as much as anyone but lets face it, the global support these clubs have managed to generate is the reason there's so much money in the english game. We all get to enjoy the fruits of their labour.

You know that won't happen they will cane us

I'm thinking with a -£51m net spend so far this summer we're unlikely to be in any trouble any time soon. Even if we were to spend £100m I doubt we'd excede the limit. We bring in over £120m in revenue each year just from being in the Premiership. We've just won the Conference League and have guaranteed league phase games in the Europa League in the first half of this season. Thats without the domestic cups, corporate hospitality money, sponsorship, etc, etc. We've just sold Imray for another £5m. Ozoh is on his way out the door for another £5m.
We've actually never had so much short term income. Financial constraints are not something Palace should be using as an excuse to not spend.
