Generally tariffs are not a good idea unless you're protecting home industry against unfair subsidises. This will be inflationary for the US and that won't help getting interest rates down.

these days, Wars play out on the financial markets as much as on any battlefield. It will be interesting to see the effect on the Dollar, the Euro, the Sterling, the price of Oil, debts, etc.
And before anybody gets cross or reactionary, what business do Denmark have owning that big slab of ice ? maybe Trump is nuts, but so was Biden and all the other war-monger Democrats.
The EU/NATO run around playing Billy big balls around borders and nations....Ukraine, Syria, Palestine, Greenland....... and they are simultaneously rubbish at protecting domestic borders from a tsunami of young men. Why should you care about a Russian speaking frontier (with speakers of Russian living on both sides) when your own village has turned into a kip ?
