Depends on price doesn't it. I don't think we have 45 mil to pay on a central defender - unless we're guaranteed Guehi is leaving for a certain amount. Which brings us back to square one really. The greedy, big club part of me, wants us to have both Guehi and Chalobah.Have we seen enough to make this permanent in Jan?
If its working we might as well do it early. Chelsea are doing well and don't want him. Will open up a loan spot if we need it.
Transfermarkt have his value €13m which seems a little low, I'm pretty sure Chelsea won't value him the same.He has certainly improved and put in a very composed performance on Sunday. Will be interesting to see how he handles Arsenal tomorrow night.
Give the ongoing speculation around MG, he seems like a sensible option and provides flexibility in a number of positions.
I guess it depends what Chelsea want - I seem to recall £50m being mentioned before which seems way too much. If a deal could be done around £15-20m I reckon he would be a good buy.
Looks like Chelsea were paying him £50,000 a week.Transfermarkt have his value €13m which seems a little low, I'm pretty sure Chelsea won't value him the same.

If these references are true, then yes. Buy him up quick!!
One of the pundits on Sunday reckoned he was carrying an injury when he arrived (sounds familiar) which he's now over and it's taken a bit of time for him to settle in, which is understandable with LaCroix being new as well.He has certainly improved and put in a very composed performance on Sunday. I might be wrong but I can’t see any world in which Chelsea accept €13m for him. It wouldn’t surprise me if this ends up like Loftus-Cheek or Gallagher. Players do well for us meaning their value increases. Chelsea then unwilling to sell for less than c£50m which we can’t afford so they sit on the fringes of Chelsea’s first team without playing much but we look elsewhereTransfermarkt have his value €13m which seems a little low, I'm pretty sure Chelsea won't value him the same.

I think Chalobah has improved week on week.
He's now got into a rhythm playing regularly and has developed a good partnership with Guehi and Lacroix.
However, it's looking like Guehi will leave in the summer, so the back three will once again have to be re-established.
If the fee is right for Palace ( and assumably funded anyway by selling Guehi ), then I think a bid for Chalobah will be in order. If successful then it will be Richards or Riad to compete for the third spot. Richards performed well at the end of last season and the question is will he be able to maintain that level given that the whole team were pretty much at their best then. I don't think it's possible to pass judgement on Riad, not seen enough of him against quality opposition yet.
Probably right but he certainly seemed pleased with his goal. Maybe if he's enjoying his football and being at Palace he'll change his mind. Whether we can afford him is another matter.I thought it was said in the summer that he didn't want to sign for us on a permanent deal and that there is no 'option to buy'.
I got the impression he signed for us last minute as no one else came in for him and wasn't gonna play for Chelsea.
No brainer to sign him up but I think we are going to be disappointed as I expect him to get a transfer to a bigger club either here or abroad.

Agree, there is better value i am sure, another left footer, added to the 3 mentioned might be good.I think Riad is Guehi's natural successor. Hopefully we'd have a ready-to-go replacement should he leave in the summer. That would leave us with a back 3 of Richards/Lacroix/Riad, with not too many backups. Hopefully Chalobah can now be that settled player and fight for/keep that rightsided berth.
The jury's still out for me on Chalobah. One good(error free?) performance vs Brighton is a good start. lets see what happens between now and Jan, but the price has to be right.
He is showing our other recent recruits the benefit of Premier experience. Lacroix has certainly adjusted the others not so much.
