Excellent news. And as previously stated it's another crack in the sac for Newcastle who wanted him too.

I don't understand why Newcastle didn't go for him on loan? Surely he's better than Franken-Burn?

You would imagine it's going to be a Guehi-Lacroix-Chalobah back three when everyone is available, which is a bit tough on Richards but I think he's not been great so far this season.

It's a shrewd move.
It certainly helps us this season, but it also buys us some time in the event that Guehi departs at some point.
If Chaloboah settles well a permanent move to follow may avoid a panic about replacing Guehi.
