Trepidation for the 26/27 Prem season ?

It feels like we're never ready for the first game of the season and miss out on any points from a few games due to that. That's how it feels.
That's not all on Parish. It's on the whole staff of the club. It looks like our playing staff don't want to take any responsibility either.
They should have all been volunteering to return and train earlier - and we should really be insisting that we want more. We need to extend pre-season to one week earlier and have at least the coaching and management in place.
Manager, admin, coaches, players and chairman/board need to make this happen next season. There will be no stupid 'played half an hour at the World Cup' excuse. If, by some miracle, we can make that happen it will help the integration of who we do buy and it should stop us having to just accept dropping points at the beginning of the season.
Does Haaland look like he played a load of games at the world Cup and came back not really ready. Do any players in other teams look like that? Maybe one or two, buy to a man ours look unready. That can't be described as acceptable. When I say a fan could run the squad better, it's not much of an exaggeration. It's not as hard as we seem to make it. Lower league teams do it better than we do and they often overhaul the entire squad on frees or however they can, every season.
In fact, we were more prepared when we were rubbish. Mateta prima Donna perhaps? I'd say so.

I probably could.
I am a Palace fan. Was there with 52,801 people on the night we beat Burnley to win the Division 2 championship with goals from Swindlehurst and Walsh. I watched the team of the 80s grow up. And everything in between including Ian wright. The FA cup and Leipzig. So I know what I am talking about. I don’t want to argue. It seems that some of you want to. Wrong guy. Just adding my penny’s worth.

They have nice pubs but red just reminds me of Utd and Liverpool. Funny really, that no one can really dislike Brentford. They're like a cousin you never visit. You know they're there. You even go past them sometimes. But when you visit you don't feel connected but have a couple of drinks and go home. You barely reply to their WhatApps.
Sometimes you feel like giving them a call but they're bound to annoy you somehow as you just don't care about them. Do they have diehard fans? That seems incredibly unlikely. Nobody is ever from Brentford. Maybe Chiswick or Acton or something. No point in mentioning Hounslow or anywhere.

I did wonder that. Especially with players like JSL. Didn't exactly have a hard season, hardly played all tournament.

You'd think that its in his interest to get back as early as possible to make sure he's fit, understands how Sarge wants to play, and gives him more time with players that have been there from the start of pre season (wharton, mitchel, Nketiah etc)

Clearly, we have to insist. Our team look like they need to be told what to do.
This is all something the ownership and management need to think about. Another is managing the International Breaks. We don't need the example of Munoz (I know he's not here anymore and I'm not sure Lerma's going to matter too much) going 1000s of miles to bust a gut in a friendly against Andorra. We need to just say no, or limit their minutes. It's another time when everyone comes back crocked. It's a big reason I didn't give a s*** when we sold Munoz. Judging by appearances, he gave far more of a f*** about Columbia than us. Equally Mateta seems desperate to play for France but can't be bothered with us.
They're so thick, but we're putting up with it and paying their wages. Who's the actual fool here?

Brentford's Griffin Park was the first football ground I ever attended as most of my school mates were fans. I was a Q.P.R. Fan as a kid... (I know).. Grew up in Hounslow, or just down the road from it, in a part of town which to this day has the lowest crime rate in London. So big up Hounslow...

Someone asked about my antipathy towards Parish for the Fofano disaster. Well I answered that. But in addition, who wastes 100 million on Johnson and Larsson, two reserves for relegation teams? Think how much better we could have spent that this window?

You clearly need a Maths lesson. We didn't spend 100 million on the 2 you mentioned

Obviously no credit for Parish in your book for the sums we paid for Guehi, Eze, Olise, Mateta, Andersen, Munoz, Lacroix or Wharton. Clearly, only the negatives count in your eyes.

Unfortunately, I am pretty good at maths. We spent close on 100 million for these two duds. Less than we booked or did in this window. Yes, we did well with the players you mentioned but Theon were todo with Dougie Freedman, not Steve Parish.

I lived in Hounslow for years. Just down the road from Hounslow West. Was working at Heathrow. It was all pretty Asian to be honest. There was no trouble at all towards our house, where it was a few lads renting and drinking and being stupid all the time. I think all the locals were mildly entertained and bewildered by it.
I visited years later when I went over for a match, my old Sikh landlord let me stay with him for free. He said "you always paid your rent on time". I think we lost but what's new. We were right in the flight path too - which was genuinely indescribably crazy. Jumbos at that height shake the whole house. You wouldn't hear a full blast stereo. Those were the days.
